Faslodex
My PET scan showed three new areas that have metastasized plus pleural effusion. I've been on Letrizole for 2 1/2 years and it obviously has stopped working. My oncologist is switching me to Faslodex injections. What can I expect for side effects? Is anyone familiar with this treatment? I am very scared

Curative-Intent Metastasis-Directed Therapies for Molecularly Defined Oligorecurrent Prostate Cancer
Of 72 enrolled patients, 37 had identifiable oligorecurrent disease and agreed to
metastasis
-directed therapy (10 surgical resection, 27 radiation). Of these men, 22% achieve a complete biochemical disease–free response at a median of 15.9 months.

Broken rib
Hi all, It's been a bit since I've posted - but I have been keeping up with you all! I'm still holding steady on Ibrance and Letrozole. My bone mets aren't showing up on my PET scans, so I'm thankful for that. My concern is that on my most recent PET scan, another recent rib fracture was documented

Under 50 - 3 Years out with M1b disease - an update!
Like Break60 and a few other guys on here, my particular care team has sold me on the value of
metastasis
directed therapy for macro cancer, although I recognize it’s not curative by itself.

Rising ALP (alkaline phosphatase) but PSA still undetectable...any thoughts that don’t include bone Mets??!!
If not bone
metastasis
any other ideas as to why his ALP is rising? They are also looking at his para thyroid gland. He works out with weights regularly and runs about 20 miles a week. Has always done cardio but weights are new. Could the new work out routine be the culprit?

Xeloda Questions
I’ve been on Xeloda since late October, and love it for the most part. My only issues are my hands and feeling gassy. My hands aren’t peeling, but I think they’ve lost maybe 25% of their sensation, and they feel like sausages that are about to explode! Does that keep getting worse, or does it hit

Folfox after Taxotere and Jevtana failed
Pet scan shows some progression of
metastasis
but my father remains asymptomatic. No bone pain for the moment. Now, Dad is about to start a new chemotherapy, Folfox. I looked it up and see that it is normally used to treat colorectal cancer.

Pain similar to sinus trouble.
The doctor at the hospital thought that there was little or no chance thatthe pain was caused by a
metastasis
but was typical of a sinus infection so prescribed a slightly different antibiotic. I have been taking these for nearly 5 days with no improvement.

Metastasis Directed Therapy (MDT) is here to stay for Oligometastatic Patients!!! Part (2) Cryo and Thermal Ablation
Greetings FPC Members,
Metastasis
Directed Therapy (MDT) is becoming a standard of treatment in oligometastatic patients. For my next items, I would like to see where we are using cryosurgery and thermal ablation (laser, radiofrequency or photodynamic) in MDT.

Kisqali and Fulvestrant
I am on a combination of kisqali (3 weeks on and one week off) and fulvestrant injections. Just about to start week 3 with some tiredness and mild diarrhoea as side effects. Worried that symptoms will get worse. Have others tried this combo and what side effects have others experienced?

What ADT duration would you use?
Lazarev et al mention that 9 months can be acceptable in cases like mine (high-risk, no
metastasis
, treated with high doses of radiation achievable with brachytherapy boost) !
