Attention - How Precious is it?
Good morning all and happy Christmas. I've pinched the first sentence below from something I read this week.
Our attention is powerful; it is the true gold of this world, which is why so much effort is made to capture it
. The most wonderful thing we can do for anyone is to really listen to what

mental health in first trimester
I’m wondering what anyone else has done to deal with first trimester stress. And in particular if anyone has any experience with contacting GP etc for support and whether it’s actually helped/ any other things tried? I’m 6w. I’m convinced that it’s a blighted ovum or otherwise already lost/ going

Leaving loved ones
I am thinking about my husband of 37 years. Things are not going too well for me and although he tends to not to believe the end isn't in sight, he must be effected by all the latest events (starting trial drug next month etc). Naturally I don't like to dwell on any negative thoughts either but any

Have I done the right thing and is ignorance bliss with this vile illness. I have gfr of 21 but everything else seems to be ok. The private consultant was very good and explained everything well. He did say though that if your gfr goes below 20 you could be talking about dialysis so now I am terrified

Advice needed. Many thanks!
Hi everyone. Newbie here! Very soon I will have my first appointment with a consultant since my cirrhosis diagnosis in July 2022. I was wondering if any of you have some good general questions to ask a consultant that I can take with me? I've thought of a few but as I'm new to all of this and am not

Bereavement counselling
I lost my wonderful hubby in September, 3 weeks after his diagnosis of Oesophageal cancer. I'm devastated 💔. I also lost nephew 3 weeks ago, I was with him when he passed. I've gone back to work trying to get on with things. I had my first Counselling session on Friday. I had to go back to the Hospice

An Idea...re Brain Fog etc...
Hey lovely LCers. Hoping the weekend finds you well? (as much as possible) I have been struggling with helping DH with his Brain Fog and deafness. This seems to be cancer related, and is definitely getting worse, (he is on his third cancer diagnosis so, it's not surprising) But it's very lonely here

Encouragement
I am grandmother and caregiver to 11 yr old ADHD boy. His father refuses to take him for counseling or medication. He goes to special school. because of his impulsiveness he is disruptive. He’s getting older and stronger and I’m getting older too.

Here’s a copy of a letter I sent to a friend who is still suffering in hospital, she saved my life by phoning the police. Just lately I’ve decided to make some radical changes to my lifestyle, I cant undo things that involve others so instead of dwelling on the impossible, I’m making moves, which I

Depression, anxiety caused by toilet problems.
I have had I.b.s now for about thirteen years and have reached a point now where I just can’t deal with it. I can’t go out very much. When I do I can only go to shops with toilets .I don’t enjoy anything anymore.I just stay in where I feel safe. My work is as a cleaner/housekeeper.I will only clean

Trying to Help People Out By Entering Spiritual Counselling
I’ve been facing depression over the past few years but visiting a spiritual counsellor has helped me a lot. If you’re considering spiritual counselling, I highly recommend it. I feel like I have found inner peace and it has inspired me to follow this career route. I’m looking to get my spiritual counselling

Anti-depressants and TTC - not sure what to do
Hi lovelies. I’m really after some thoughts and advice around taking anti-depressants whilst TTC / going through treatment. I’ve always been a bit resistant. Not totally sure why but think I worried about adding yet another tablet to the many I’m already taking, whether you should take during pregnancy

Have you ever?
Have you ever put you first? How does one do that? Is it doable? I’ve been married since I was 18, a mother at the same age, been with the same man for 42+ years. He and I or at least I am on a trial separation albeit in the same house. We are trying couples counseling, just started. Today I told him

Blood Test Results, Help please... Second Cortisol test still showing as borderline Cushing's .
Apologies, I posted earlier, to the wrong forum... I'm just not with it. Sorry 😞 It's been a long, long time since I posted.Much as happened; too much. After years of asking about a Cortisol test and being constantly denied by the male GPs who said it was only the remit of a consultant to authorise
