I am grandmother and caregiver to 11 yr old ADHD boy. His father refuses to take him for counseling or medication. He goes to special school. because of his impulsiveness he is disruptive. He’s getting older and stronger and I’m getting older too.

We are so excited you are joining us on this journey. We are all dealing with the side effects of our loved ones having ADHD. If you get a chance read through old message in case you have questions. Thank-you for bring a caregiver to your grandson.
It is wonderful you are open to recommendation to help him.
Big warm welcome. We are always here for you.
Hi
Welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry life is difficult for you and your grandson at the moment and hope the school is a useful resource about these issues for you and him.
Do you have support for yourself such as counselling and or a support group?
Have you accessed a parent training program (experts identify this as being a pivotal thing for management of adhd in children)? Does your grandson have help from a psychologist and or OT?
Also many people here have recommended ADHD Dude who has online videos aimed at boys.
Best of luck
In home therapy is a wonderful help! A lot of therapists will visit the child at home as well as at school. It may be less distracting for your grandson at home. Since you’re the caregiver, can you request services for him? Are you his guardian? Or, does your son live with you, but you do all the heavy lifting emotionally with your grandson?
