Low TSH stopping me getting HRT
I am 45 yrs old, & believe I am in perimenopause. I had hormonal blood tests done 6 mths ago, which didn’t show this, but was told that didn’t mean I wasn’t peri as hormones go up & down throughout the day….I decided at that time my symptoms weren’t bad enough to try HRT. I spoke to a doc today as

Worsening burning, restless, pins and needles in both feet and calves - is this related to the prednisolone, PMR, or something related?
I cannot fathom why this is happening and why it is becoming worse. I just cannot sleep for this. I take Magnesium Glycenate each day, and have not been troubled by restess legs for several years. I had been on 8mg preds since August 2021, Since this past autumn what with Covid, bronchial infection

Magnesium salts and RLS: malate, glycinate or citrate
Just following up on a recent post recommending magnesium malate for RLS, quoting recommendations made by Californian company Pure Biogenics in promoting their RLS supplement Seratame. Looking into this, experiments on rats suggested that malate may be the most bio-available form of magnesium; there

So grateful for any help. For someone based in USA CA
What would be the dose for Magnesium to take prior to initiating B1?

Likewise

So I currently take my t4 & t3 in the morning 6am and then my second dose of t3 in the afternoon at 2 pm (if I forget then it’s 4pm once back from school run) then I take my alfacailcidol , ADCAL and vitamin d before bed

Magnesium and dopamine
Maybe someone can help explain the effect of magnesium on dopamine levels.I thought a dopamine agonist was helpful in calming rls. Magnesium is an antagonist so decreases dopamine levels, yet is touted as effective in controlling rls. Don't know if I'm making any sense here. I also read that taking mg

Magnesium glycinate - difference between brands
this post is really only aimed at a small group here who like me are ardent believers in the benefits of daily magnesium glycinate supplements. I have for quite some while been very loyal to a specific brand and then thought it was time for a change to basically experiment whether another slightly higher

Goitre & supplementing selenium & iodine
Does anyone supplement with selenium & iodine? I have a multi-modular goitre which is not really causing any problems. I do not take any thyroid medication. I have had a lot of blood tests done because I have a lot of unexplained symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, aches, brain fog, digestive issues etc

Why do I have heart palpitations with these thyroid results?
Hello beautiful people. I would love to get your input as to why I get heart palpitations, high pulse and HBP with my current thyroid and other results. Yes, my TSH is slightly raised, but it actually went down from 6.9 in Nov to 4.9 in Feb on Levo 75 mcg, so it should continue to go down. I've

Curing RLS not just treating the symptoms
Thank you for the priceless pages of RLS tips and advice! I’ve been struggling to diagnose my 3 year old son’s sleep issues his entire life. A sleep study reveled his “kicking legs” last year which (we believe) set us on the right path. So far, adding

Leg cramps
About 4 months on Lupron. Besides the miriad of daily hot flashes, mild tired, I have been feeling decent, but last few days lots of leg, calf, and other muscle cramps. Can this be related to Lupron? Taking Oxybuton for hot flash, but low dose. Any reason not to take a potassium and magnesium supplement

‘Supplementing’ supplements with whole-foods.
Before Parkinson’s symptoms came into my husband’s life, we generally tried to get all our nutrients from the food we ate (and had to supplement B12, D, and omega 3 because of a plant-based diet). Since following sites like this, we have added more B vitamins (B complex, B1, more B12), and magnesium

Two weeks of relief
I have had two weeks of *total* remission. So of course, I am trying to figure out why. I think it is possible that it has to do with adding soy to my diet. I am not sure that this is the answer, and it’s only been two weeks, but I am sharing this in case it resonates with anyone else or helps provide

Success with with supplements/alternative treatments for Raynaud's (Curcumin, omega oils, magnesium oil)
I am still in the process of being diagnosed, but it looks like I have limited systemic scleroderma, with the main manifestations at the moment being Raynaud's, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, and itchy skin on my arms and legs. I take omeprazole for the GERD, which is working well. The Raynaud's symptoms
