I have had a very painful UTI since February 19, 2021. Went urgent care and waited for 2 and 1/2 hours! PA said no doubt I had infection gave me amoxicillin clav 2 X a day for 7 days ! It got just a little bit better after the 7 days then it started right back even worse I suffered until dr got back he ordered Macrobid! B/p is up now189/74!im going to try to sleep some tonight up at 5 AM today maybe this one will do well without a heart attack or stroke.

HI Browneyes, Do you have a nephrologist or a PCP who knows your medical history. A Doc in the Box, or urgent care doctor is going to treat the immediate need and not necessarily the cause. Something is causing these infections, and you want to get to the root cause. Antibiotics can be harmful on the kidneys. I would call your primary or nephrologist asap.

I haven’t had one in over a year but I have taken 7 days of one antibiotic and 3 days of another one and very nauseous

I would want that 189 SBP down. Also double check it a few times to see if it is always at that level or was just an outlier event. The 74 is ok, but odd to see the 189 with the lower 74. BP checks at home can be different from professional checks by a nurse or Dr. a lot of antibiotics can affect kidneys so the instructions for an antibiotic might say not to use it if you have ckd or to lower the dose to allow for clearance. I double check to make sure its safe before i give it to my mother & also make sure the dose is corrected for ckd.
