ongoing UTI

before Christmas I was treated with a 3 day course of macrobid. UTI continued and was worse 2 days after finishing antibiotics. I’ve just had a 3 day course of trimethoprim and I still have UTI symptoms .MSU was borderline to bacteria and positive to blood. I repeat this on Friday.

What’s going on why do I still feel unwell with this? And what help should I get from my GP.I’ve only spoken to them on the phone.

I am lethargic, lower back pain and low abdo and achy rib pain.

Have you tried also some natural remedies to aid the antibiotics? Those can be continued longer once the antibiotic is finished.

Cranberry extracts are great, drink plenty of water and tea (cranberry leaves tea and hibiscus are good for UTIs - was recommended by my doctor)

Some probiotics are also useful

You could try iherb (it delivers internationally from US) or some local UK shop that has natural remedies (the only one I know in UK is hollandandbarrett.com)

You need a longer course of antibiotics but Gps are reluctant to do this I suffer with reoccurring Uti but have to go private to get a longer course of antibiotics.

You can try Dmannos capsules or powder also Azo helps with pain but it turns your urine orange so dont be alarmed if you try it. There is a group called Embedded Uti support group this has loads of information and treatments. X
