To port or not to port
Can’t use right due to

. It took 8 sticks to get blood and get my chemo today (2nd cycle)The medical team talked about a port as a good option. I’ve always struggled with the idea of having a foreign body in my body(though I do have a lot of metal in my back!).

Things continue to be confusing. Had an MRCP, which my doctor wanted to do to rule out PSC (since I also have Crohn's), and it did. So good news. It showed "No convincing abnormality within the biliary system on MRCP to indicate primary sclerosing cholangitis as clinically questioned. Mild biliary

Hi everyone I did a bilateral oophorectomy in February and I have been bleeding since Friday. I went to my doctor today and she said it’s a period. My question to her was I have no ovaries how can I have a period. She said it’s normal! Has anyone ever had this experience?

Feeling worse since taking Levothyroxine, recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism
Hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 7 weeks ago, after visiting my GP to discuss what I assumed were menopause symptoms, minor tiredness, occasional constipation (which I thought was down to gallbladder removal Dec 17) and only 2 periods in 12 months, apart from those symptoms felt fine. AV node ablation failure?
Hi I’m new here also. I have PAF, and SSS, I had a pacemaker put in 6 years ago. Meds do not work well for me. 2 months ago I had an AV node ablation. It seems to have failed. I’m still getting Afib generated V tach and other atrial pacing. Anyone else have a failed AV node ablation?

HF and pacemaker
Hi I was diagnosed with HF (with an EF of 25%) and LVSD late last year which is thought to be a consequence of a high ectopic burden. I had an ablation a couple of months ago but it was not successful in stopping the ectopics. I am now awaiting a biventricular pacemaker and subsequent AV node ablation

Total hysterectomy with BSO

Total hysterectomy with BSO
Hi, I’m about to go in for this op due to Uterine masses, which they say are likely benign fibroids but cannot exclude uterine sarcoma. I have not gone through the menopause yet, therefore will go through surgical menopause. This frightens me a bit and was just wondering if anyone else has gone through

Hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy at 28?
Has anyone else had this procedure at 28 at all or any age? If so what was your experience of this? I think I want one and my gynae has told me to research and think about it thoroughly before my next appointment in 3 months. Im hoping some real life experiences may assist my research of the studies

Ectopic beats after AV node ablation .....I'm worried.
I had an AV model ablation in January after a year of failed procedures to sort out permanent AF. I thought I was sorted as my heart has been beating regularly thanks to the pacemaker and I haven't been at all concerned..... until now. I've started getting pauses, feels like missed beats. I phoned the

PBC and Cholesterol
I am newly diagnosed (June, 2018) with PBC. My liver enzymes were through the roof (800+). I had a emergency gallbladder removal in May- but symptoms did not resolve - hence further testing and diagnosis of PBC. My cholesterol is insanely high - almost 600. My doc told me that I cannot take cholesterol

When is AV Node ablation the answer?
I have permanent AF. An attempt at ablation failed because my right atrium is enlarged and it was not possible to get a catheter through the OS from the right atrium and into the left. My EP initially suggested an AV node ablation but then, without telling me the reason decided not to, saying that it

Oophorectomy-how did people manage after having this?
Hi just looking for some opinions for research for myself. I've been advised by gynaecologist I've got 3 options, the prostap injections (which I've had previously and only offer a break from symptoms not stopping them), removal of the lining of the womb (which will help with the amount of bleeding but

Starting again
Hello all! After a few weeks of self-pity, paranoia and injury, I went out this morning and did W1R1 again. I’m on the list for gallbladder removal but the surgeon I spoke to encouraged exercise and more weight loss before surgery, which could be six months away. Glad I made the effort, and pleased that

History of Paroxysmal A.Fib.
Hi, I was diagnosed with A.fib in 2002. Since then I have had 3 failed ablations. I had a pacemaker in 2011. In 2016 I was due to have a hip replacement. There was a big fuss about doing it in case I went into Afib and unfortunately I gave in to having an A.V node ablation. No more pain from hip.

AV node ablation - is sport still possible?
I am in the "shall I shan't I have the Ablate and Pace" mode. I need to be sure I can continue to ride my bicycle ( I live in a very hilly area and before this AF occurred I would average 30 miles a day) and also kayak. I was reading some comments which say that the pacemaker does respond to the demands
