Hi just looking for some opinions for research for myself. I've been advised by gynaecologist I've got 3 options, the prostap injections (which I've had previously and only offer a break from symptoms not stopping them), removal of the lining of the womb (which will help with the amount of bleeding but not with the pain) or an Oophorectomy (which she wasn't keen on as she said most women have more problems after because of the menopausal symptoms, but this will stop the endo). I've been referred to another specialist at another hospital so am doing as much research as possible before I go to see them so I can make a better decision on what's right for me, not just what the Dr advises. Thank you

Oophorectomy-how did people manage after having this?
I’ve recently had a total hysterectomy and removal of my ovaries at age 36. I was on Prostap injections beforehand. So far I’m doing really well without any menopausal symptoms but I know these may be to come. I’m taking supplements for menopause but no HRT as yet xxx
That's great thank you, a lot of people who have had their ovaries removed has said the menopause symptoms aren't as bad as they thought. I'm assuming should you start symptoms you just go and see your GP for hrt then? X
I see my consultant on 23rd Oct so would discuss it with them then. I’m hoping to try to avoid HRT because whenever I’ve had hormone treatments to try to help with my endo they’ve not agreed with me. Something tells me HRT wouldn’t either but if I get really bad symptoms then I’ll have to maybe give it a go xxx
