Surgical menopause - HRT and cutting patches
HeyI had a oophorectomy in June, struggled to get the right balance of estrogen. Finally put on the 100mg patches which have made a difference in terms of I'm not a complete emotional wreck and can function with life better. But I have gained so much weight, I've gone up nearly two dress sizes since

Cross Roads
Once again I seem to be at a cross roads on my AF journey. I have been on Sotalol for some while but recently I have been having fairly frequent episodes of AF which last for quite a while, sometimes days. Because of this I had a second ablation at the end of November but unfortunately, if anything

Very newly diagnosed PBC still undergoing testing
Hello all! I'm a 59 year old female living in the Florida Panhandle Haven't had any serious issues of note, arthritis and joint replacements aside. I began with an overall itch in Sept of 2021 and didn't worry too much until about a week later, when I was sleep deprived and torn up from scratching,

FET with prolapse?
Hey ladies I want to do a FET in April and am working on losing weight and getting healthier before then to give myself the best chance. I’m 43. I did an ICSI cycle with a fresh transfer in December which was unsuccessful. I’ve had recurring UTI’s since late Nov and am trying to get on top of them

AV node ablation on Friday...getting a touch nervous!!
Having had 3 years of cancelling just about everything planned. Being unable to walk and talk , get up the stairs ....etc. plus innumerable trips to Leeds LGI and York. I find myself A few days away from an AV node ablation, following a CRTP insertion at the beginning of January. In one way it can't

Women, ADHD Surgical menopause and memory loss
Hello, New to the forum and looking to learn more about the subject listed above. It seems that among the medical professionals I've seen ADD is overlooked, as is the impact of the loss of estrogen. I am scared that this is my new normal. I'm wondering. 1. Have any of you experienced worsening ADD

AV node ablation
hi all I thought I would let you know I had my AV node ablation last Friday. If you have read My posts you will realise I was scared silly about it as it is so final. Dr Graham at LGI was amazing as were all the staff. They were so careful to make sure I was as calm as I could be. The procedure

Oopherectomy or Hysterectomy?
Hi everyone, I have been recently diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. I saw a gynaecologist at my local hospital who said my choices for treatment are either oopherectomy or abdominal hysterectomy as I've had 2 c-sections. There was no mention of a laparoscopy. I also have hypermobility (EDS

GA 68 PSMA PET SCAN RESULTS
My PSA reading 3 months after RALP was 8.11. I started Cosadex on June 1st, and Eligard 30mg 4 month injection on the 13th. I just received the results of my PSMA Pet Scan. 1. Hypermetabolic nodules/lymph nodes in the mid pelvis, consistent with sites of residual/recurrent viable disease. The most suspicious

Preventative ovary removal hereditary link
Just wondered if people on this site may have experience of family members deciding to have elective surgery for removal of their ovaries based on possible hereditary links of ovarian cancer. I myself have ovarian cancer, and my sister and cousin are considering surgery to reduce their risk. An aunt

Fear and despair AV-Node may not help with my problem
Dear forum community, I have a question and at the same time I am very concerned about the answer. For more than 10 years I suffered from PAV which came more and more often and is always very symptomatic. Pace and Ablate update
It has now been seven months since I had my AV node ablation following having a pacemaker fitted in March and I thought I would just let you know how things are now. Hopefully this will also help those of you who may have to have the Pace and Ablate procedure next year. Whilst it has taken all of this

Ovarian cyst query
Hi I had an MRI done recently for intermittent groin and hip pain. The hospital rang me to say that it showed that my ovary appears enlarged about 7x8cm. My doctor has ordered a CA125 and urgent ultrasound. Is this normal procedure? He also said I would need to have the ovary removed!! I am premenopausal
