Nearly 8 months off the fags
Well con't believe how easy I've found giving up the dreaded cancer sticks after 35 years, couldn't have done it without Champix and my lovely smoking cesation nurse Sara, whom I have become great friends with, we meet up once a month to have a gossip which is great. Yes champix was horrid at times but

Can’t shake off tight chest feeling despite good peak flow / inhaler use
Mystery catalysts to chest tightness... I’m 32 and I’ve had asthma most of my life. I smoked in my teens to mid 20s and didn’t look after myself (in terms of prevention/inhalers). Since moving to London a few years ago my asthma has exacerbated. I now look after myself - exercise where possible, use

Intrinsic asthma and non allergic rhinistis.
I have horrible rhinistis to the point I'm mouth breathing most of the time and I've been prescribed avamys which didn't work and now dymista which makes me feel ill and unblocks my nose very little, my asthma feels worse with this, I take symbicort twice a day. yet peak flow is always 550, does anyone

Low Carbing It!
Hey everyone - can’t believe the weekend is nearly over again! Anyhoo, just thought I’d say hi - me and my husband are low carb dieting - so far we’ve both lost 13lbs each - trouble is everything that’s tastes so good is so full of carbs! I’ll post progress on here and any tips I think are useful if

Should I take prednisolone?
I've been struggling and off work since Wednesday. Used rescue inhaler several times on Wed. Peak flow was 300 (best is supposed to be 450, but a long Time ago). Doctod gave me prescription and said to use if I got worse. By then pf was 380. It's been fluctuating between 350 and 380 with blue inhaler

Slowly getting into and used to LCHF. Coconut... Good or bad?! And how to work out how much Protein you should have a day?! Advice needed.
Hi. I've been slowly for the last 2 weeks reducing my carbs, and increasing my healthy fats. I've cut out bread, and grains, breakfast cereal now. With starting to look at what new things i'm supposed to eat, and being vegan for a long time. I bought a vegan keto 30 day cook book arrived 2 days ago

Is my Peak flow high enough?
Just wanted to ask the community about PF. My peak flow is on average at 88%. I’ve read conflicting info about where it should be if control has been achieved. Some info is saying between 80-100% of PB is controlled while the impression I got from reading Asthma UK is that if it is less than PB you should

High FENO High Peak Flow - No Action
Hi Folks, NIOX FENO Score - 98 - month later 102 Sent for a peak flow/spirometry - This was satisfactory No further action by my doctor. NOW - Shall I accept this decision or shall I pursue having such a high FENO score? I've been warned by a family member (trained on NIOX) that I could have irreversible

LDN low dose naltrexone and PMR
Does anyone have any experience of this? A friend with ME has sent me a bit of information/links for this drug so I have had a bit of a read. It is suggested for PMR but there appears to be only anecdotal evidence. I’m unsure whether it is a treatment instead of prednisolone or alongside? Is it worth

Post First lap dressings and asthma
I had my first excision laparoscopy last Friday and i’m wondering how long I have to keep my stitches dressed for? I’ve showered and redressed the 4 lots of stitches I have but only got a couple more patches left. Also, I have asthma and today my peak flow has dropped, i’ve had to use my blue a few

High Protein Dinner Salad 🥗🥓🍣🥚
This is what I had tonight for dinner. The salad was really fantastic and high protein and low carb.. The salad had turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, cherry tomatoes (4), onions, etc. with bacon dressing. I had a slice of gluten free bread with a glass of water on the side. No dessert.😀👍 For lunch, I

Atkins Revisited.
This is a post I’ve had on the back burner for some time. In earlier posts I have alluded that stalled weight loss could possibly be down to overconsumption of fat. This to many would be something of a heresy, but bear with me, We are exhorted to be liberal in our consumption of fat - indeed there

Oops I did it again!
I’m honestly so in love with low carb right now. I’m down 5lbs now. Today at church a lady told me I’m melting away to nothing. That was a bit of an exaggeration but sure made me feel inspired to push on. Tonight’s dinner beef and broccoli. Yum! Have a great day everyone.
