had a spate of high bp & heart rate & nose bleeds last dec. ( 2021) had nose packed and been clear until yesterday☹️
Question does heart rate rise because of nose bleed or can nose bleeds be caused by high heart rate ? Also I was sat quietly watching tv - what could have prompted this ?

Heart rate will rise if any significant amount t of blood is lost. Theoretically a large increase in BP could cause a nosebleed, but they are usually due to local factors and environment such as low humidity and exacerbated by the anticoagulant.
Hi,
When I was first diagnosed with paroxysmal AF back in Jan. 2010 my Cardio consultant put me on Warfarin and Bisoprolol. Specific instructions for Warfarin according to all the rules for it. The Bisoprolol was prescribed to be taken in the morning with other morning meds. After a few months and when I was back at work I suddenly developed random, full flow nose bleeds out of the blue and for no possibly reason. Went back to my GP and did some table thumping ( thinking it was a side effect of Warfarin). GP got out her book of Witches Magic Potions and Brews and said take the Bisoprolol at night with other night time meds. I did her bidding and have never had a nosebleed since - since mid 2010. I might add that these random nose bleeds nearly always occurred when I was sitting, hardly ever when I was active.
