Iodine and goitres
Hi I’ve just been diagnosed with having multinodular goitre. I also have an underactive thyroid, take T3 only and feel well. However I still cannot lose weight. I’ve bought some iodine as Ives read it helps with goitres and with losing weight. Does this seem an effective method to take iodine?

Please help with interpreting recent blood results.
I’ve been on Levothyroxine since 2008 after receiving RAI treatment. I’ve been prescribed 100mcg over the past few years , My symptoms go up and down, sometimes hypo , sometimes hyper symptoms. In a previous post I outlined the problems I’ve had with my gut over the past couple of years, all investigations

So I may have endometriosis, I just got back from a&e after calling 111 from the amount of pain I’ve been in. Been sent home with a box of codeine and told it’s probably my hormones and if I have endometriosis it’ll also be that. However I still don’t know the root problem for it all. I’m grateful for

Pros and Cons.
I'm wondering if anyone can be of help to me please. I have a rather difficult situation going on here and I am due for a full body scan (C.T) and a operation on my mouth mid March) However the contrast agent they want/will be using is Iodine 350. Today I was refused the scan by a young lady because

Questions about types of scans.
We've done 2 PET/CT scans this year. One in May and one in August. I'm trying to avoid another one. Can anyone say why a PET/CT is better than asking for a full body MRI. At this point we are trying to avoid any more radioactive tracer in his body. We will do it if needed. We've had MRI's in the

Thyroid eye Disease - a couple of questions
I was diagnosed with severely overactive thyroid last year in May. I have been taking Carbimazole since - first 40mg a day, then 15mg for the past many months, and now down to 10mg a day. I went to see an Ophthalmologist to get some answers to my eye issues and it turns out in now have Thyroid Eye disease

Should I be referred? GP says no...history of Graves
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 1999 and eventually had radioactive iodine treatment. This seemed to work and I have been having yearly blood tests to monitor things. 18 months ago I hit menopause (I’m 54) and my skin became really dry to the point of eczema and puffy swelling around

Suggestion for endo flare up pain
Hi This will be my first post I'm not asking for help but trying to give some which feels good. I've discovered a gel from France whilst staying with a couple in Spain (he used it for broken leg trauma). Being someone who previously got addicted to codeine in a knock on effect of dealing with endometriosis

Thyroid and Lung Function
Does anyone know if there is a link between low lung function and thyroid disorders? I was hoping to leave to dive but having just

A negative association between urinary iodine concentration and the prevalence of hyperuricemia and gout
In my mind, some sort of association between gout and thyroid has long seemed likely. However, it would probably be a gross over-simplification to suggest that everyone with gout is hypothyroid, and their gout was caused by that hypothyroidism. As so many papers, this too calls for further research.

Painkiller recommendations that don’t cause constipation
Hi all, I have Endometriosis of the pelvis and bowel and even though codeine seems to work relatively well for me regarding pain management ( don’t get me wrong not all of the time but enough for now ) it does cause me terrible constipation, which is actually the worst when already suffering with

How are your calcium and PTH levels?
I had RAI treatment for Graves 40 years ago. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with a parathyroid adenoma and had that removed. (by the way--people who took radio active iodine are advised by the NDC to have their PTH hormone levels tested every 5 years) Recently I have suffered from insomnia and extreme

Does anyone know if Starpowa - is safe with an in remission Thyroid ?
My hair is very fine and although okay, it has bouts of falling out a lot for no apparent reason. I got quite excited when I saw the reviews about Starpowa from Holland and Barret, a hair and nail supplement. I was going to order Starpowa online but I called in to Holland and Barret today and was told

Tendonitis and other things
Last summer I had tendonitis on my wrist but it resolved by itself eventually. I used pain gel and wrist support. But I feel I have so tight tendons or can't say what it is all over my body. Bad days the gnawing pain goes from the heels all they up to the neck. It's muscle pain I think but feels very
