Hyper + Neutropenia
Damn, I knew it was too good to be true. My thyroid came under control with carbimazole within a matter of weeks. I thought that was too easy! I know have neutropenia. My neutrophils are at 0.1 (range 2 - 7.5), which doctors have assumed is caused by the carbimazole. My thyroid levels on Sunday 15 March

High Free Thyroxine
The kind and generous people on this forum have taught me all I know about thyroid generally. Thank you! Now, I really would be grateful for your views on my personal condition. Diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2014 I underwent RAI Therapy in 2016. From the outset my blood results were anomalous.

I have been diagnosed with shingles and recommended to take L-Lysine 500 mgs on an empty stomach. Will I still have to leave it an hour after I take my Levothyroxine before I take the L-Lysine? It was ask recommend to me to during apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach so I thought I’d take the L-Lysine

I have thyroid cancer 😢
Just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had a TT for graves disease and results came back showing cancer of 2cm. It has spread to lymph node so will now have lymph node removal and RAI (once corona virus is over). My world has just come tumbling down 😢

Gargling for upper respiratory tract infections
Random trial reported below. Not Coronavirus but may reduce viral load in throat which has been reported to be initially high in the throat for Coronavirus, see second extract. Gargling with salt water is common in UK for throat infections. If I get a sore throat I think I will try gargling with a high

carbimazole
I live in Australia. I am aged 66. I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, with an overactive thyroid. I was told that my reading should be between 10 and 20 and when I had my first blood test it was 79. I had been taking mollecular iodine drops for a period of 3 years or so, as I was told I was deficient

Buprenophine success!
I am so grateful to Shumbah for posting and sharing her experience and success with Buprenorphine. I was able to get it prescribed from a neurologist here in Japan yesterday (0.2 grams as a suppository) and I tried it for the first time ( 1 x 0.2 mg suppository) last night. I slept for almost 10 hours

Just had the worst experience
So went and saw gynaecologist today as been getting bad pain in right side for months now due to an endometrioma. The lady I saw did not seem to specialise in the condition and actually stated that she was a registrar. Said that although it is causing me a lot of pain it is quite small at just over

New nodule after total thyroidectomy
I had a total thyroidectomy in August, RAI in September followed by full body scan which showed uptake only in thyroid area. I had an ultrasound last week which showed a small nodule with vascularity. Doctor doesn’t want to “over treat” so we’re doing another ultrasound in 3 months. Has this happened

Research on Links between Fibromyalgia and Thyroid
Can anyone point me towards recent research on links between thyroid health and fibromyalgia please? I started with fibromyalgia since having thyroid problems which has got significantly worse since having radio iodine treatment about 18 months ago. I am desperate and cannot get any help or support.

I was told I had Graves, but TSH Receptor antibody tests just in. Was it Hashi's all along?
I just had my Medichecks TSH Receptor Antibodies result (the first time I've had this done) The doctor's comment was "Your thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibodies is normal. This is reassuring as these antibodies are positive in autoimmune thyrotoxicosis such as Grave's disease hyperthyroidism

Iodine dressing and thyroid tests
Hi quick question, I was bit by a small dog this morning and was sent to minor injuries unit by work. They put an iodine dressing on me but mentioned that they used to say not to use iodine in hypothyroid patient's but because it's on my skin and superficial it will be fine. I have little faith in health

Cognitive decline... seeking information.
Hi all Firstly, please forgive the very long post.... 😔 I was diagnosed with autoimmune Grave's disease in 2010! I was severely unwell. I tried medication for 2 years but my thyroid just wouldn't behave... eventually I had a very large dose RAI in 2012... I am left with secondary hypothyroidism and

Yellow Mucus Following Circumcision
I had a circumcision 17 days ago; quite a nasty one as i had left it 25 years (I'm 51) and 90% of the foreskin was stuck to the head and needed to be separated. The 1st few days were fairly pain free, but I've had some discomfort following this and occasionally pain levels go through the roof for a

Recent blood test results
Hi all, I was diagnosed with graves disease last year and underwent radioactive iodine treatment. I have had regular bloods and just wanted some advice following my recent results. My TSH is 89.69mU/L the normal range 0.3-4.2mU/L and my FT3 is 5pmoI/L normal range is 11-22pmoI/L. My specialist thought

Party Girls don't get hurt...
You could often see Party Girl out... Well, pretty much any night of the week. Wednesdays were usually her favourite. Peeling away from her equally drunk friends wearing more makeup than clothes, it would be easy to look at Party Girl and think 'Ugh, what a slag'. She wasn't a slag though. Not by any

CORONA VIRUS / COVID-19/SARS COV-2 And Some Potential Help
This seems like a good time to start a thread discussing the latest developments regarding SARS COV-2 / Corona Virus(CV-19). Given that it seems to move quickly to new areas that were previously unaffected, being as prepared as is reasonably possible seems to make sense, but is there really a good way
