Radioactive iodine alternatives?
I am struggling with letting the Endo perform a radioactive iodine procedure to treat my Graves’ disease. The idea that my thyroid will be destroyed is unsettling. Has anyone had the procedure and has it helped. What is it like to have the procedure?

Endo adding T3
Hello everyone. I’m from the USA and love to read all of your posts here. I get so much valuable information here than I do in my own country. I had thyroid cancer 3 1/2 years ago and my thyroid was removed. I’ve had several RAI treatments. Normally my simulated TSH returns back to below 1. This time

A few years ago I was taking iodine drops (only 5 drops in water a day) after seeing a naturopath because I live in Tasmania and was told that we were all iodine deficient here) but over a period of 3 years it built up in my system and caused me to have a very high reading of an over active thyroid.

Thyroid and the environment: exposure to excessive nutritional iodine increases the prevalence of thyroid disorders in São Paulo, Brazil
We have had many discussions about iodine - specifically, iodine supplementation. This paper from 2008, which I do not remember ever seeing, is quite interesting and is fully accessible. [i]

laparoscopy NHS waiting time
Hi, I had my appointment with a specialist last week, and it went better than I expected. She went through everything with me, all my symptoms and everything I've tried to do to relieve the pain. She said as the meds given to me for PCOS were ineffective, she thinks its endo and has booked me in for

I’m considering trying a multi mineral supplement, any advice on which type to try, and should I avoid ones containing zinc and iodine. Thanks Morgan 2014

Vitamin D causing tinnitus
Hi, I posted a little while back about vitamin D supplements causing tinnitus, well it turns out its not just supplements. I've been in the sun on a few occasions over the last couple of months and it affects my tinnitus in the same way. What the hell do I do? This has only started since I had radio

Hyperthyroidism first appointment
Hi This is a follow on from my previous post. First appointment with consultant and as my liver enzymes were raised, they are taking me off carb, done blood tests and said other options radio active iodine or surgery if liver still raised. Wouldn’t entertain the idea of the other medication when I mentioned

Reducing pregabalin
I'm down to 175mgs pregabalin. Every time I reduce I have a terrible night. I'm sure it does nothing for me and it's the tramadol that stops the feeling. But not always. I try not to take tram every day so I take 1 OTC ibobrufen and codeine +Kratom a couple of times a week. I read about the doctor in

How do you cope with stomach/colon cramping?
I have started to get them more frequently, and they are excruciatingly painful to the extent that I have no choice but to lie down for the rest of the day and hope it somewhat passes by the following day (just for it to come back a couple of days later). Even sitting up can be very uncomfortable!

Newly diagnosed hypothyroid - medicate or not?
Hi everyone I have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism - accidentally! I'd had chest pains on and off for weeks, and since I am slim, my GP tested me to see if I was *hyper* thyroid... but it turned out the other way around! My numbers are not dramatic but I do have antibodies suggesting an auto-immune
