Can't seem to get anywhere
I may or may not be able to get any answers here. I might not even be in the right place. I'm a 53 year old male and back in 2015 my thyroid swelled up quite a bit. I was referred to my local hospital endocrinology. Where a large amount off brown liquid was drained. At the same time I developed alopecia

Severe pain and no sleep for weeks
Hi, I've had severe abdominal pain and no sleep for weeks, waiting to see consultant. Usually have constipation but have had a few diahorrea episodes in last few weeks. GP has prescribed amitriyptaline for pain and to help me sleep. Does this work or am I best taking zopliclone or both? Does it cause

Anti-Androgen Tx and Bone Tumors, Enhanced RT using iodine nanoparticles, Enhancing the immune response, and Cowpea mosaic virus for a cure?
Hello FPC members, Recently, some news has come out regarding anti-androgen therapy and the development of bone tumors in PCa. It would seem that in some circumstances per the article, some anti-androgens may fuel the spread of bone tumors. Finding the DNA markers to identify individuals at risk using

Progesterone only pill
I’ve started taking the POP yesterday, just wondering what people have experienced in terms of timescale before I feel any pain relief? I’m awaiting a lap and have been given the POP on top of the other meds I’m already taking (paracetamol, Mefenamic acid and codeine when needed). Thanks

Making T3 chemically
The producers currently being fined for the skyhigh price of T3 have alleged that the high cost is through difficulty in production of T3 chemically. I looked up the accepted procedure for making T3 and it didn't seem unduly difficult. Making T4, you leave all the sites of tyrosine molecules to be iodinated

15 days post c section: intestinal cramps and diarrhoea- anyone?
Hello ladies, First of all apologies for the TMI…I’ve had a c section 17 days ago and for the last 3 days I’ve been having terrible intestinal cramps with bouts of loose stools/diarrhoea….was wondering if it’s part of the recovery? Has this happened to any of you? After the section I was on antibiotics

Supplements, nootropics, vitamins, herbs: how do they interact? which are not compatible, which work synergistically and timing?
Sept. 7, 2021: I’m adding this preface. Thank you for your responses! I did not anticipate this! Please do not have expectations of my efforts culminating in anything that is not very basic, already known by most people on this forum, or more than what is easily accessible on the internet. I use

Wait & Watch - What does it entail?
I’m relatively new to the CLL community. My diagnosis was incidental while following up with blood tests post COVID infection. I’m currently on W&W with a Rai score of 0. This community has been a great support and I’ve learnt a lot here. It has given me hope & reassurance. I’m still confused about

RAI side effects for Hyperthyroidism
What are the side effect effects of RAI treatment for Hyperthyroidism? Does this effect on brain? Again specially, does this effect on fertility? If so,how is the percentage? :( I am just 20 years old.if RAI effects on fertility, I won't be able to tackle this situation. I am

Uncaring medical professionals
Having been told by an endocrinologist, that my best option was RAI I submitted myself to it. Not knowing it would lead to obesity, for which I can get no help. One nurse practitioner suggested that I eat less, she was unaware that I eat the bare minimum. This is awful, as I have arthritis throughout

Thyroid cyst with normal bloods?
Has anyone had a thyroid cyst and had thyroid function test come back as OK? I had my ultrasound and FNA last week and the radiologist said the lump on my neck was mostly fluid. He drained it and took 3 biopsies. When I've tried to google thyroid cysts it seems to say that they are due to a lack of

CT Cardiac angiogram
Hi, just thought I would go through my experience of a CT cardiac angiogram as it may relieve some worries. Hope it helps. I was booked for this test a week after an emergency admission with chest pain to rule out any coronary artery disease. I was obviously scared of the outcome on top of my mitral

Suicide.
I haven't been on here in a while but I wanted to maybe offer a little bit of hope to anyone who has been struggling with this condition and felt that they had no other options left to them. I had a major flare up of my RLS about 14 months ago and was prescribed Gabapentin. It took about 2 months

Reversed my Hashimoto's with dietary and lifestyle changes
I was diagnosed about three years ago with Hashimoto's. All my thyroid hormone levels were normal but my anti-TPO antibodies were out of range. I had all the usual symptoms: fatigue, weight gain and then the inability to lose weight, hair loss, dry skin, you name it. I also developed severe cold urticaria

Iodine for Underactive Thyroid
Hi. I just wondered, has anybody used iodine for underactive thyroid? I’ve seen supplements for it, but I’ve read reports that it can make things worse so I just thought I’d put the question out there. Thank you.

Medication review
I have decided to ask my GP for a medication review after having too many nights with horrendous rls and concerns about the amount of medication I take and the suspicious that my surgery practice hands out tablets like smarties. I would appreciate any advice I could say to my GP over a telephone consultation
