Being treated for Graves' Disease and wanting to conceive
Hi! I'm new here! My husband and I were hoping to start trying for a family this year but this has now been put on hold as I try and get myself in good health after being diagnosed with Graves' disease in May 2021 (positive TRAbs at 17.5 (range 0-1.5)). I have been seeing an endocrinologist who is recommending

First transfer done - now I have questions - hope you can help :)
Thanks to all of you for being so supportive throughout my first IVF cycle, hopefully you'll continue to share your awesomeness and wisdom! I of course will offer advice where I can :) On Saturday we had one day 5 early blastocyst put back in, they said as it's too early they cannot grade but are happy

Burning legs
I want to appeal to all the knowledgeable RLS sufferers to see if they can help my dear husband who has been suffering from burning feet and legs. It has been diagnosed as a nerve trapped in lower spine which has been troublesome for years and is pretty wonky. He has had cortisone injections in the past

Watchful waiting
A few weeks ago I posted with a query regarding RAI or surgery to deal with a large non-toxic retrosternal goitre. Thank you to everyone that replied, I found your comments really helpful. This afternoon I saw another consultant who was a bit more forthcoming than the previous one. RAI wasn’t mentioned

Good experience!
I've moved from London to Liverpool and my main fear has been how this would impact my injection treatment for wet amd. I can't have iodine & in London I was always questioned about it & made to feel I was an outlier. I had my first injection appointment in Liverpool today & noone batted an eyelid about

Chronic pain university study
Have you suffered from chronic pain and have been prescribed long-term opioid medication as a result of this? I’m conducting a research project at the University of Derby, which is exploring the experiences of individuals who have been on opioid medication for at least six months or longer due to chronic

Does anyone else just feel fobbed off all the time?
So I am having a really bad flare up - I am on day 5 and have just been in so much pain. I have been up to the doctors and hospital and sent home with codeine (which actually isn’t that helpful as it causes more issues) and I have been referred to the specialist which is about an 8 week wait. Any tips

Struggling with symptoms I presume are from Levothyroxine
Hi there. A bit of background before I waffle on… RAI treatment (for overactive thyroid in Feb 20). Thyroid became tender and I felt unwell about 1 1/2 weeks after treatment. Put on block and replace until Sept 20 (due to my thyroid being irritated by the RAI). Taken off all meds to see what my thyroid

Pregabalin **Update from previous post **
I will copy and paste previous post and update accordingly. Been suffering severe RLS for over two years since stopping pregabalin very abruptly in February 2020 (which I regret) for anxiety. Prior to that had adverse reaction to Lorazepam (January 2020). Was also on Mitazipine (stopped May 2020) and

Use of thyroid hormones in hypothyroid and euthyroid patients: a 2020 THESIS questionnaire survey of members of the Hellenic Endo Society
We have often discussed Greece and their use of T3 (*liothyronine) - moist especially due to the very reasonable price of their own T3 product from Uni-Pharma. For that reason, I half-expected an article regarding thyroid treatment in Greece to see T3 rather more visible than in the UK. Whilst they

I fractured my L2 eight weeks ago washing up. I was sent for an x-ray which showed the fracture and also scelerosis in L5 -S1. I had a Dexa scan which showed T scores - 2.7 in hip and -4.8 in spine. I started on Alendronic Acid one a week three weeks ago. After the intial shock I knuckled down,

Has anyone tried Mirtazapine?
My doctors put me on these. I’d say there great for sleeping but don’t seem to be helping anything else. I am still using codeine to control the symptoms. I don’t use them every day. But I find they work. The most I use is 3 or maybe 4 on a bad day. I prefer them to Imodium because for some reason Imodium

Besremi versus Pegasys
This question was raised by Flynn2107 months ago. I looked into it and replied there but it seems worth a new post with the recent FDA approval. PEG and Ropeg (Besremi) use polyethylene glycol (PEG) to control the release of the INF molecule. The earliest INFs had less of a control element and more
