Visit with new Hem/Onc Dr went well!
Hi Friends, I had my first visit with my new local doctor. He is Associate Head of Stem Cell Transplant Dept with Ochsner in Louisiana. He does not treat any cancers other than blood. He listened and verbalized understanding that my previous Dr’s were not a fit for me. He reviewed my BMB from Vanderbilt

I was diagnosed with a Fatty liver about 2 years ago, which seemed odd given that CT/ ultrasound, MRI etc did not. Some raised liver bloods, anyway had a Fibroscan which showed quite high Cap ie over 300, but low scarring. So off I went and stopped all drink, lost some weight and changed diet, since

Scar Tissue & Pain
Hi, my emergency liver resection and tumour removal was in sept 2020. I’ve got a large yet beautiful scar across my abdomen. After 18months, I still get a lot of scar pain and can feel the scar tissue. I’ve had scar tissue massage a few times from a trained person and try to do a bit myself at home

Diagnosed with cirrhosis
Today I found out I have stage 4 fibrosis which is cirrhosis. I quit drinking over 10 years ago, I've had weight loss surgery and lost over 5 stone which as reduced my fatty liver to practically zero. I don't have hepatitis or autoimmune liver disease, yet I still have cirrhosis. I'm only 41. I'm feeling

Swapping Baricitinib for Tocilizumab
Hi All. Been having a bad time with flare and fatigue following Covid and although on Baricitinib 4 mgs and Pred 10 mgs daily I’ve not been good. I started a flare back in December and it seemed that in Feb after Covid the Baricitinib is much less effective, if it’s working at all. The rheumatologists

Could I have cirrhosis?
I am 28 years old. I have spider angiomas on my chest and palmar erythema on my hand. I used antipsychotic and antidepressant drugs for a long time. I have sometimes taken flu meds and roaccutane along with these meds. My doctor said it's nothing to worry about. But high direct bilirubin worries me.

Spider nevi central spot?
Hi, As per previous posts I'm anxious about my liver, with good cause as a previous heavy drinker (50 units a week , much reduced last few years). A couple of years ago I had a liver MRI -fine. So my question - I've noticed some red veins at bottom of nose. Are these always spider nevi? I can't see

Kidney transplant medication side effects
Hi Everyone... hope you are all off to a great summer. I've been going through testing to see if I can be put on the kidney transplant list. They do SO many tests! Whew! My gfr fluctuates between 11-13 and has gone to this number fairly quickly. After meeting with the pharmacy side of a transplant

Rising Bilirubin
Good morning. I have stage 4 prostate cancer and since March, have been taking a drug called Zytiga (Abiraterone) which has been known to affect the liver. A recent blood test shows my Bilirubin to be 24umol/L when the normal range should be 0-20. A month ago, it was 19umol/L. I am therefore concerned
