I was diagnosed with a Fatty liver about 2 years ago, which seemed odd given that CT/ ultrasound, MRI etc did not. Some raised liver bloods, anyway had a Fibroscan which showed quite high Cap ie over 300, but low scarring. So off I went and stopped all drink, lost some weight and changed diet, since that time my liver scarring has continued to rise and has gone from no scarring ie 3.2 KPA to over 7 KPA at last scan. I am presently in a country that I do not have access to a Fibroscan, so had an ultrasound and it came back as the original had, ie liver normal. Im finding it hard to understand how your bllods can be ok, repeat ultrasound says no fatty liver, yet fibroscan always registers increased scarring.. Dont know what the next step is.. Any ideas,

Are you able to get a biopsy? You said your liver ultrasounds are always normal? The fibroscan tests thickness sometimes it sees more than what the ultrasounds do.

Please keep in mind that alone fibroscan cannot diagnose anything. So you cannot conclude that your scarring increased based only on this fact. Of course the result is something you cannot ignore but please let this do a good hepatologist. Good luck. I think no one would suggest you a biopsy if only 7 kpa is the indicator.
