Elevated LDH
Hello, I haven’t posted before. My 44-year-old husband was diagnosed 2 years ago. He has been in watch and wait. We just met with his oncologist. His other blood counts are relatively stable, just increasing at a low rate. But his LDH has steadily increased the last 3 tests and is elevated. His oncologist

low WBC Count & CMV Update
Okey, I haven’t posted for a while because I haven’t felt terribly well. I’m fairly sure this is due to the high dose of Valcyte I’m taking and have taken for all but 2 months since the first week of June. BACKGROUND I had a kidney transplant the week before Thanksgiving 2022. The surgery went well

Metastic clear cell...
Hi, everyone. How are you? I just came back from my clinic appointment and was told news I didn't really want to hear. It spread again to one of lymph nodes near right kidney. That made sense why I had a pain there. I was on single dose of celarsertib for a few years. Now it's discontinued. My consultant

Well I've had all my tests, I'm now severe, got pulmonary hypertension so the lung reduction is out of the question, apparently. I can go forward for a lung transplant but you know, I caused this with smoking, I gave up 2 years ago. And I don't fancy having my ribcage opened and someone else's blood

Life Insurance
Hi, I have been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. I'm 54 (f) and live with my 25 year old son (divorced). I've just realised I don't have life insurance (I know!), and wanted to ask if anyone has experience of decent companies who won't rip me off. I'm worried sick about leaving my son with extra

I had a biopsy at the end of the trial( sep) and it was showing roughly the same but just had 6 month appt with my liver consultant and she said...my bloods are about back to

cirrhosis and rheumatoid arthritis
My partner originally decompensated now compensated has suffered from bad aches and pains since diagnosis with ALD - always told it was a side effect of cirrhosis but as he started to become decompensated they started to entertain the idea it might be something else. Cut to almost 2 years later and

Feeling fed up
I’ve had deranged LFTS on and off for at least 6 years now with Alt going up over 1000. Second time seeing specialist and apart from signs in liver biopsy pointing to AIH the scans don’t seem to show much. Don’t seem to get told much by Specialist and don’t seem to keep me updated. Had a MRCP on October

After recovering from a Decompensated liver from just 2 weeks to live, then it was 3 months, then 1-2 years then 5 years to live, I have now been given the news that ive done so

Transplant waiting list
My father has stage 4 liver cirrhosis caused by alcohol and has been in and out of hospital a few times because of blood in stool or vomiting blood. He has stopped drinking completely as of 6 weeks ago, I would describe his drinking as more of a habit over a long period of time as opposed to needing

INR/FIBRINOGEN
Can someone please tell me if anything else can affect INR or FIBRINOGEN levels, last year my INR was 1 on the ratio and is now 1.1 does this mean the liver is getting worse or can that figure change, it is literally just on the last part of normal now, also my FIBRINOGEN is almost double what it should
