Why is pneumonia so often fatal to CLL patients?
Why is pneumonia so often a cause of death among CLL patients? Wondering today, for many reasons. In part because I was out in extremely cold weather for a few hours and was at the same time sweating from some hard work. A PET scan a while back showed a small pocket of "maybe" infection. not confirmed

Post-ablation chesty cough
Had bit of a chesty/asthmatic cough since cryoablation just over a week ago. Have been awaiting improvement, but none yet. Anaesthetist said beforehand that a few get pneumonia due to Trans Oesophageal ECG thingy. I'm a bit prone to pneumonia, and serious infections kicked off AF bigtime in the past

4 months into covid pneumonia recovery - back to work
Just another update. I'm now almost 4 months into my recovery from being hospitalised with covid pneumonia. I can now walk around 1.2km, but it does tire me out quite a bit. I'm mixing a day walking with a day strength training, and it's slowly paying off. I tend not to flag during the day as much,

Cold Water Snorkelling
I’m off to Iceland & my son wants to do cold water snorkelling (with a dry suit). The water is a mere 2 degrees. Just wanted to see if anyone had done similar & if it would be considered safe with ET?

Finally Infected
Those that have read my posts know that I have taken much more risk than most of us would with CLL. I never got the first two versions of Covid, but as of a test I took this morning I have a Positive Result. I felt a slight strange feeling in my throat, and started getting nasal a bit on Tuesday Night

Role of Lactobacillus reuteri in Human Health and Diseases 2018
This is an interesting article. Apparently Lactobacillus reuteri creates B12 in your gut. And other things too, like balancing the microbiome and fixing dysbiosis. I just ordered my Dr Matthew #1 Probiotic that has Lactobacillus reuteri. What is interesting, and I will need to study this, is that the

Probiotics for Parkinson's disease: Current evidence and future directions 2020
So... I'm taking lactobacillus casei Shirota, which is both the probiotic used in the PD study that showed it helped with bowel movements and is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It has been shown to reduce the EBV titers in your system too. If you think PD is autoimmune

Ibrutinib and a chronic cough
Hello! My husband has been on Ibrutinib for 5 months and has developed a terrible chronic cough. His bronchial tubes seems to have become inflamed and there is much mucous. Has anyone experienced this as a side effect on Ibrutinib? We have had his lungs checked out and there are no infections, cancer

Adrenaline from starting too low/ slow with cortex?
Hi, I started the nutrimeds adrenal cortex plus. I took ~1/4 capsule (so ~25mg cortex) in juice sipped on over 4h (waking, ~8am to 12pm). I am usually hypersensitive to supplements, which is why I wanted to start low and slow. My low back soreness has increased and I feel wired/ increased adrenaline

Shivering 4 days post ablation
Well it’s day 4, don’t know if this is normal, I can’t stop feeling cold and shivery, I feel cold anyway because of blood thinners but my body is sensitive and I feel so cold. Had a slight irregular HB this morning so trying hard not to be disappointed yet. Does colchicine make you cold by any chance

Off of sedation drugs for 1 week. Eyes r open and my friend is looking all around and up at the ceiling, that is all 😢
Does anyone know how long it takes before there starts to be a change where the brain begins to signal to the lungs to breathe on their own? My friend is still on the ventilator and Covid and pneumonia are gone but he’s not back with us yet. I’m assuming this is still from all the sedation drugs?

Pressure from doctors to for feeding tube or trachea
My friend is still on a ventilator. The doctor is saying no more Covid, no more pneumonia. His parents are being told he has Covid brain. His eyes r open but brain won’t signal lungs to breathe? Doc says get a permanent feeding tube? It’s only been 6 days since sedation drugs left.
