Breakthrough with the cause of IBD - may lead to similar discoveries with other autoimmune diseases?
Just spotted this on my BBC News notifications. BBC News - Major cause of inflammatory bowel disease found https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1wwdd6v2wjo It's written in layman's language, but seems to say they have found that there is a genetic link and that they have drugs already that might treat

Hi all, I joined this forum to remain on top of developments around the complex pelvic floor issues affecting women and to seek support from others. In my experience these are generally poorly understood by doctors in the UK especially at consultant level and there is an absence of multi agency support

Feeling rough!
Hi, I’m really suffering this evening with so much pain and discomfort and intermittently having to go to the loo. All I can put it down to is earlier I had a fry’s chocolate cream bar . I think it’s the richness of the dark chocolate and fondant cream. I started feeling really bloated and twinges of

Alendronic Acid
I wondered if there is a suggestion on how long one should take Alendronic Acid. I started when i was about 64 ( I am now 79). I worked as a nurse in the interventional Radiology department and when the new dexa scan arrived all females working were able to have a scan to give a little more experience

Turmeric Curcumin: BCM-95 or Meriva - Maybe Neither
I switched my Turmeric to BCM-95 some years ago. I had read an article “researchers believe that the ar-turmerone derivatives... can be used as new therapeutic agents for Parkinson’s disease (a). The search was on to find a supplement with turmerone. I found BCM-95 had some essential oils in it. I asked

Laxatives that don't cause nausea?
Hello I am suffering from constipation and just wondering what laxatives are least likely to cause nausea? I'm having problems with my stomach I'm getting an endoscopy in a month I'm feeling nauseous almost all the time and having problems going to the toilet. So very sensitive to meds at the moment.

My doctors won’t investigate
Typically I suffer with chronic symptoms of low B12 but all my results seem to be ignored by GP. My ferritin is 35 ug/L (indeterminate), vitamin b12 is 157ng/L (low) and in my FBC my MCV is 95.5 (just below higher cut off) and MCH is 32.1 (slightly high - comment on blood test is ‘no action despite having

Does fear play a role with pernicious anemia?
Hey guys, I hope this message finds you well. It's good to have a place to come that someone has some understanding of what you're going through! I messaged here before about having fear of a lot of things that I didn't have before this PA/B12 deficiency and sometimes I think of myself as a wimp because
