I switched my Turmeric to BCM-95 some years ago. I had read an article “researchers believe that the ar-turmerone derivatives... can be used as new therapeutic agents for Parkinson’s disease (a). The search was on to find a supplement with turmerone. I found BCM-95 had some essential oils in it.
I asked in an email, “How many mg of ar-turmerone is in the Curcumin 650mg as BCM-95?” the reply was, BCM-95 Curucumin as per supplier of the ingredient has about 4 to 4.5% total turmerones so it would be about 26mg as per that calculation. Total turmerones not just ar- turmerones, but some. That was 9/16/2021, I have been taking ever since.
I read on HU that a reliable source had switched to Meriva.
Meriva: 29 times the absorption of ordinary turmeric curcumin (vs) BCM-95: 6.93-fold compared to normal curcumin. Sounds like a no brainer 7 vs 29, but I had 2 bottles of BCM-95.
“According to EuroPharma, a recent study showed that its BCM-95 curcumin ingredient outperformed Indena’s (Milan) Meriva curcumin, as well as plain curcumin, in terms of absorption. The company says the difference lies in BCM-95’s higher content of full-spectrum curcuminoids(b).” “Company says” is there some bias. I am not a strong under-stander of technical jargon. Getting time to reorder, so which?
