What other options there are for patients with bipolar, bpd, or aggressive behavior;else than "shutting down/mentally foging/" meds?
Side question: Can you have a good productive life (not just an okay bearable life) and live normally despite of having an antipsychotic in your blood? I hate antipsychotics in general. Already had mdd diagnosis with the adhd and resistance to ssris(2 types) . And I'm avoiding getting tested for hypomania

Tomorrow nephrologist appt. first visit
Tomorrow is my first appt with a Nephrologist. I referred myself, as my PCP is not taking my 3 month GFR range 52-57, dehydration, and anemia very seriously. His advice? Drink tons of h20 with lemon and reduce protein intake a lot. My potassium, sodium, and protein levels are normal. Blood pressure is

Tiredness & Depression
I'm 82 years old, and new here. I experienced neck, jaw pain (I could only swallow liquids), thigh pain when walking, and double vision. At the beginning of November 2019, I was diagnosed with GCA at Rheumatology. I was prescribed 60mg of Prednisolone for 4 weeks and reduced by 10mg every two weeks.

Possible causes of Ataxia
🙂 This is a ‘long read’ and may be difficult to interpret, but never the less it’s interesting. What processes can cause ataxia? The pathophysiology of cerebellar ataxias is as diverse as the various neurological and systemic diseases affecting the cerebellum. Broadly classifying ataxias into genetic

Very Inept Therapist!
When we moved to a Kansas it was very stressful. I have never talked about it here I believe, but I have bipolar disorder. About 8 years ago a therapist I saw in Salt Lake put me on a Lithium. It is a dinosaur of a drug. Well, my therapy team here immediately took me off the Lithium. Bear in mind I have

Has anyone ever taken lithium & haloperidol to treat ANXIETY/OCD. Dr recommended for severe anxiety/OCD..concerned about the side effects!
I suffer from severe anxiety coupled with severe germ OCD.. my brain never gives me a break! 😡 all day I worry and I’m in fear of everything that touched me or everything that I may have touched! Unfortunately I feel absolutely hopeless because I have tried most of the SSRIs and none of them have helped

Finally took the plunge and started a self-trial of Levothryoxine (after 12 months procrastination)
Some of you will remember my whining posts, trying to evaluate if my symptoms are attributable to hypothyroidism or not. I've had many thyroid blood tests over the last 24 months, including several "full panels" conducted privately. All of the data I have (the most pertinent being: symptoms burdon, evelated

Has anyone heard/tried lithium to help absorb b12 please?
Hi I've recently came across some nutritionists/functional doctors on the internet suggesting that lithium can help transport b12 into cells, has anyone got any views of this please? I'd not come across this idea before... I checked a recent hair analysis result and I have no lithium level, so wondering

Low dose lithium?
Does anyone have experience taking low-dose lithium in addition to their antidepressant? I still have really up-and-down days so my psychiatrist prescribed low-dose lithium 150 mg to go along with my Cymbalta. Wondering if anyone out there has had a good result from taking lithium

Don't give up-Find the Right Practitioner- My Journey
What made me look for a support site? I know that there are people suffering with no end in sight. I was suicidal more than once but thankfully found the right treatment. I hope that my story will serve as inspiration and motivation. My message is don't give up. There is no one treatment fits all. Find

Has anyone had experience using nutritional lithium drops for a adhd child? You do not need a prescription for this type of lithium.
The use of the supplement is recommended in the book "Finally Focused" by James Greenblatt, MD for some (not all) adhd kids.

A new level of well being. I wish more would try.
So, I can not describe what has happened to me recently except to say I am feeling a whole new level of well being. People . . . understand I have a genetic disorder that by rights should be forcing me to use a walker by now, and I am living a 100% normal life. Maybe, I'm on to something?? Maybe? -

I’m losing my mind :(
Hi, it’s been a really long time since I posted because for once I was feeling really well with all my various conditions, so much so that I started my own little business walking dogs. About 6 months ago I started to really struggle with my energy levels, breathlessness (as if I was getting less fit

Lithium Advice
So lately I’ve been getting worse and worse with my depression. No antidepressants have worked. I know it takes more than just medication to help but they don’t seem to be doing anything. Today I saw my psychiatrist and he told me that sometimes when multiple antidepressants haven’t worked, it could

Does your medication work?
Saw my CPN today and I think every week she asks me if my medication is working, particularly my lithium. Every week I say to her - I think so because I don't know what it feels like to not be on medication anymore I've been on that many different ones for a year now. I'm not sure what she is getting
