GASTRIC ACID REFLUX - Is it HCL, is it Pepsin, is it Bile and what about PPIs?
Here is a learned scientific paper in it's entirety ( minus the references -available on request); which is not too indigestible. It is by far the best publication I have located on this life or death subject. I recommend ploughing all the way through as it will radically change your understanding of

HCL - advice please
I have PA and Hashimotos. I knew that I would have low or no HCL because of the PA but only read recently that Hashi's also caused low HCL. I have bought some HCL with pepsin but not yet taken any. I wondered if you should just take the capsule(s) with your evening/main meal, and also if you should take

REFLUX COUGH - Bile
Do you have a productive cough and the sputum looks like this? The orangey colour is caused by Bilirubin pigment in Bile. It indicates that the Pyloric/the Lower and the Upper Oesophageal Sphincters are not functioning correctly and are allowing material from the Duodenum up into the Stomach and thence

Betaken and Pepsin
I have read an article advising Hashimotos patients to take Betaine and Pepsin with protein meals. The writer said she regained a lot of energy because most Hashimotos patients have low stomach acid and taking these helped with digestion thereby saving energy. what do you think?

Hashimoto's Gut (Supplements)
Anyone ever tried Betain HCI with Pepsin to support the gut in Hashimoto's? I've done some research myself. Apparently a very good supplement to try with digestive support. Any one tried and can provide testimony on its benefits and symptom relief? I'd like to try but really not sure if my stomach

Vitamins and supplements beating hcl and selenium
Hi all, following my last post regarding being diagnosed with Hashi I am on Lansoprazole 60mg daily, I have silent LPR acid in throat, not your usual heartburn symptoms. I understand that Hashi reduces stomach acid so couldn't understand why I am on Lansoprazole as well. I have reduced the dose down

Digestive Enzymes
Hi all, Love all the care, information and support here at Health Unlocked. Brilliant! Does anyone take digestive enzymes (like Pepsin, Betaine hydrochloride) or apple cider vinegar to help sore tummies with any success? Or are we not supposed to? Ta.

IF Antibody test back - so what next
Following up on my previous posts (low B12, started on B12 loading shots - had second today so too early to tell results on symptoms) Finally got my IF antibody test back today Results: 2.9 U/mL (Normal: < 6 U/mL) I'm aware of the inherent reliability of the test (40-60%) so realise that it doesn't

Betaine HCL with Pepsin and breastfeeding
Hi everyone, I've been having issues with digestion for years and after reading about it I think I might have low stomach acid. I have Hashimoto's and I have a lot of digestion/gut issues, so I think my gut isn't too well. I thought about getting a good Betaine HCL + Pepsin supplement, but I'm breastfeeding

I've got PA and wonder if I need any other supplements other than B12 shots.
Hi everyone. I'm a 49y.o. paediatrician recently diagnosed with PA (B12 of 79, homocysteine of 69, atrophic gastritis with metaplasia). This is my 5th week of B12 shots (3 times a week, cyanocobalamin) and I'm still feeling weak, tired and loosing weight (specially body mass). I usually work out 4 times

Low Stomach Acid and Apple Cider Vinegar
I have low stomach acid and I have been taking 2 capsules Betaine HCL & Pepsin with every meal as well as supping lemon water all day, but my supplements are getting really expensive and I would like to change over to Apple Cider Vinegar with 'mother' - I have got Aspall's Organic unfiltered at the moment

Help with results and advice please
First of all I apologise in advance for the long post but I really would value your opinions before I am due to see an endo next week. I started with digestive difficulties and fatigue some 20yrs ago after a long period of looking after an older sick child having had a new baby. When things settled
