Sinemet MG Conversion to Zandopa MG Conversion to Madopar. Synergy between Mucuna Pruriens & Withania somnifera. B12/thiamne thoughts...
The first link is to an article about a woman who combined Zandopa with Madopar and cups of green tea for her PD symptoms. The article has to be downloaded to read the complete article (which I cut the Sinemet = Mucuna Powder = Madopar image). https://www.researchgate.net/publication/304658036_The_clinical_effects_of_mucuna_and_green_tea_in_combination_with_levodopa-benserazide_in_advanced_Parkinson

Parkinson’s disease tremors and serotonin
I came across a recent study on the subject which seemed interesting and worth looking into. In their study Pasquini and colleagues found that the severity of rest tremor correlated with the loss of serotonin transporter in the brainstem raphe nuclei. The predominant serotonin deficiency in patients

The Good and Bad
Bit of a long post... My dad has had Parkinsons for several years now, started with a left hand tremor which has progressed to slow movement, some shuffling (though not as bad as some), and stiffness. The neurologist has had him on Pramipexole, Rasagaline, and Kemadrin for the last few years. Unfortunately

PD drugs accelerate disease progression
quotes - "All along PD progression brain produces less and less dopamine. Since l-dopa inhibits dopamine production it accelerates deficiency and patient becomes addicted to l-dopa. At this stage brain will never produce dopamine again." - "Since PD is not understood, its treatment actually accelerates

Big Pharma conspiracy theory
Is it true that the pharmaceutical companies are hurdle in discovery of cure for PD. Some skeptics believe that FDA is helping them in safeguarding their interests and both lay in the same bed. the Parkinson’s disease market is set to expand to $3.2 billion by 2021, game-changing treatments will not

Is it true? Alcohol and/or Marijuana open BBB blood brain barrier?
LOVE your explanation, Prayingforacure !! It is soooo true! My parky spouse is a retired pastor. RE: drinking alcohol. Our nurse manager says alcohol (as does medical marijuana) opens the BBB (blood brain barrier) allowing Levodopa through for better effectiveness. One has to wonder: WHY don't doctors

My husband was diagnosed with PSP just two months ago, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s six years ago. We had suspected PSP for about six months because of a number of symptoms but I’ve been especially curious about the effects of medication now. Bob has moments where he is almost trance-like

Natural carbidopa?
I am thinking about mucuna purines but everyone here says it must be taken with carbidopa (spelling?). I am not on any meds yet. I just started taking thiamine today in fact. Is there a natural supplement that can be taken for carbidopa?

In my city I have found Mucuna powder and I would like to know how to give my husband / day for the beginning? Do I start to reduce the amount of levodopa / carbidopa or take it along with your current dose and Mucuna? It Mucuna before meals, medication before the L / C?
