Will taking mucuna pruriens (instead of Sinemet) prevent peripheral neuropathy?
Is the peripheral neuropathy a side effect of Carbidopa, or a reaction to the downtime from Sinemet? My friend had been using Mucuna Pruriens, but I recently discovered it only contained 15% L-dopa and would like to get a higher grade, maybe 98% though I wonder if a 40% powder or capsule would work better

Morning dystonia
Does anyone have a solution for morning dystonia caused by levodopa. Someone suggested nepro patch can help. I have to wait to take Sinemet which although causes it also stops it. So I have to wait an,hour or two every morning with this awful till I can take first Sinemet. I was looking for non med solutions

Getting Mucuna from USA to UK
Has anyone in the UK ordered large quantities of 98% L-dopa, for example 1kg from the States? Did it get to the UK ok? Worried that bigger quantities might not make it through customs (not that there is any reason for this)... postage is free if you do get the larger sizes, so we'd like to do this.

Now that I am finally recovering from the flu I am going to post what the daily regimen of supplements I am taking. Prior to listing the vitamins, minerals, amino acids....I am taking, I need to relate a little history. I have a degree in sculpture and was exposed to many chemicals including toluene

Which medication to begin with?
I was diagnosed 18 months ago. I have a neurologist appt next week and feel that I now need to request meds. I was thinking of starting with Rasagaline then at later date L-DOPA. I prefer to have a say rather than simply accept. Can anyone offer advice based on experience?

Talk about Doom and Gloom!
I was just ferreting around Janice Hadlock Walton's PD Recovery site. Blimey, talk about damnation! The site declares that the organisation refuses to consider anybody as a 'patient' who's taken the slightest amount of Levadopa for more than 3 weeks as essentially this small ingestion buggers their

Macuna's effect on rigidity?
Five months ago I swapped 2 of the 4 x 50mg madopar capsules I take each day for 2 x DopaBean macuna which contains 50 mg of l-dopa per capsule. I expected at best not to notice any difference. My Bowen therapist, who has worked on my soft tissue and muscles for the last four years, did however notice

This gut/brain axis paper offers food therapies
Section 5.1. discusses food intervention. It’s a long paper and while much of it is above my pay grade, I thought it a good paper and more heavily referenced than any other I’ve read. It doesn’t talk about lectins, but Dr. Grundy does. http://gundrymd.com/reduce-lectins-diet/ I’ve read his book, The

Change of Meds
Hi everyone, My Dear Friend has just seen her Neuro who has recommended changing her Stanek for just
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
and introducing Opicapone instead of the
Entacapone
( which is in the Stanek) that she currently takes. Does anyone here take Opicapone and if so how are you doing with it?

PD & Mucuna
I was diagnosed with PD when I was 50 years old I'm now 55 but suspect it started three years prior. I held off taking medication not because the neurologist didn't want to drug me up I just felt I didn't need it at that time. This past December I reluctantly succumbed to the inevitable Carbidopa levodopa

Underwhelmed by Madopar
Hi gang. Is this drug meant to work instantly with ones symptoms or do you need few weeks and aggregate an amount in your system? I’m very surprised at how little difference it makes to my symptoms considering it’s the gold standard etc. I certainly had my honeymoon period with both Azilect and Requip

Levodopa Medications and Vitamin B6
Introduction
Vitamin B6 is a cofactor in over 100 enzymatic reactions. In the process it is converted from the active form, principally P5P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate), to the inactive form, pyridoxine. An excess of pyridoxine is toxic because it occupies sites that require the active form. For this
