Amantadine questions
I'm on

entacapone
and amantadine (100 mg 3x/day). Do you find it causes swelling in the feet, lower legs and hands? If you came off the drug, what was the upside and the downside? How did you come off of it? I understand that you can't quit it abruptly. Thanks for reponses

Nicotine Patch helps immensely.
For the last week, I’ve been wearing a 7mg nicotine patch with amazing results. Almost every night since I’ve slept through the night. My symptoms have improved, I have a much better sense of wellbeing. Nicotine has been known for years for its medicinal properties. Eggplant has the second most nicotine

Carbidopa/Levodopa??
I have always taken Carbidopa/Levodopa for my RLS. I have always been told it is usually given to Parkinson’s patients but I don’t have Parkinson’s. Anyone else take it?

Swapping Rasagiline for Safinamide - Hobson’s Choice or out of the frying pan and into the fire?
I have been on Rasagiline from the start. 8 years as my staple bedrock of my cocktail of PD drugs principally Ropinirole, Amantadine and of course Co-Careldopa. I have a pacemaker and take Atorvastatin and Ramipril for heart issues. Now the pharmacy says Rasagiline is in short supply in the UK and likely

Rasagiline?
I had an appointment with a neurologist who wants me to continue taking Carbidopa-levodopa, but also take Rasagiline. The side effects and food interactions list seem onerous and dangerous to me. And, it is rather expensive. I canceled the prescription until I understand this drug better. Any thoughts

Interesting(and extremely painful)side effect from Parkinson's to be aware of.
I am 68 year old male who was diagnosed with Parkinson's 8 years ago. Recently I sustained an injury to my lower back/hip area that was diagnosed as a strained QL muscle. My PT told me to slow down with my workouts and physical activities so I did but I continued to have extremely painful and debilitating

Variation in dose: doctor to doctor
We often hear the following said to help explain the difference in drug regimen between one PD patient and another: "all patients are different". At its simplest in a regimen formed entirely of carbidopa/levodopa we see daily doses of between 50 and 2000mg, perhaps more. While it's likely that the

Is Rytary really working better than Carbidopa/Levodopa?
I’ve had PD for at least 5 years but it was only diagnosed 1 year ago. I started on Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100, 3x a day and then went up to 4x a day. Primary troubling symptom is peripheral neuropathy and toe curling which causes balance issues and painful walking. Secondary symptoms are weakness, lightheadedness

Co-Careledopa - what does science say - when to start taking
Hello, I was diagnosed Macrh '22. My doctor prescribed me 12.5mg / 50mg, two tablets to be taken three times per day. I feel fine just taking 1 tablet per day, two if I have a stressful day at work. Though I can imagine stepping up to two per day soon. I recently saw my Doctor. He recommended,

Can we boost Carbidopa/Levodopa results with lemons?

Tremors are still there
Hi all, recently diagnosed, 65, overweight, but active. I started 4 weeks ago with 25/100 Carbidopa-Levodopa , 3 pills a day. I am taking them every 8 hours without side effects. I am disappointed that my right hand tremors (main motor problem) are still constantly there. They have never disappeared

When will we reconcile with the fact that there is no cure now? Possibly never?
This is a vent. Sorry for this, but I am frustrated with the disease and the daily stress of living with it. People don't understand what we're going through and have limited patience with our strange condition. Family and friends who observe us at close quarters start to form their own opinions about
