Mucuna
I am new here. I am trying to keep informed. I just tried Mucuna pills for the last month from Switzerland (2 a day) plus 3 levodopa 100mg but have not found an improvement, on the contrary. I will switch over to the Mucuna powder form I just ordered from India. Has anybody any experience with Mucuna

Greetings
We are pretty sure my mom has PD. She has many of the symptoms other than the tremors the neurologist started her on levodopa three times a day. Her Neurolog I st said if her symptoms get better then it would tell us that she does have PD. My mom doesn't like taking the pill because she says that

What to expect from levodopa
I started showing symptoms of pd from early 2015 and was diagnosed June 2016. My main symptom is little left arm swing and the stiffness that causes it and loss of dexterity in left hand. It has felt uncomfortable this past week - seems worse. I am on light dose of Madopar 50/12.5 x 3 a day for past

Xadago Video shows how it works in detail
Watch this video and see all of the amazing benefits of this drug for PD. It works by three different mechanism's and is by far the most advanced drug out there for PD. It works in combination with L-Dopa therapy. https://vimeo.com/116166647 One thing I like about it is that it suppresses glutamate

Turns out I do have peripheral neuropathy, no doubt as a result of my long-term use of carbidopa/ levodopa
I mentioned in an earlier post that I suspected peripheral neuropathy might be contributing to my problems with gait and balance. My neurologist confirmed that tests showed I have PN and, as is often the case, a vitamin B-12 deficiency. For full report see http://parkinsonsand5htp.blogspot.com/2016/

Lets talk about levadopa. While it is reputed to be the most valuable medication in PD it can cause dyskinesia which alarms me.
I am glad to know that C/L exists as a treatment for PD but does not slow progression. It is routinely cited that dyskinesia can occur in up to 80% of PD patients after 5–10 years of L-DOPA treatment. A neuroprotective medication for PD is desperately needed and there are clinical trials under way

Have just finished a weeks 'boot camp' and although tired from all the physical therapy, have pushed myself to limits I never thought would be possible again. Being on max dose of Mirapexin and Azelect the Nurologist recommended I start Sinemet. Thanks to my wife's research we found the centre and decided

Changing Meds to balance motor fluctuation and dyskinesia - Still working on it.
I recently had my annual visit with my neurologist. The main thing I asked him to help me with was to adjust my meds to reduce off times while preventing/reducing dyskinesia. Since I had been on Stalevo he suggested I change to Sinamet with the same strength but without the addition of entacapone that

Symptom Free Essentially
I used to have really bad symptoms. Freezing gait, falling, no balance, could not walk, sleepiness, fatigue. I mean it was bad. I found a way to eliminate 99% of the symptoms by following this drug and exercise method. Once a day in the morning I take Xadago. It is a new MAO inhibiting drug which

What helps reduce Dyskinesia .
We are giving her sinemet , amantadine, Mirapex etc. Over the years we have reduced the amount of sinemet (I think she was overdrugged in the beginning - and we couldn't tell as her tolerance to meds was good ) . Now 1/4 sinemet every 2 hours , to try and follow the less meds at more frequent interval

RLS what works and doesn"t work for me
It's been a while since I've posted here. I am so deeply moved and sympathetic toward all of you who suffer the same disease that I do. After many years of this hellish affliction I can't tell you that I have any kind of cure although some relief by taking vitamin supplements. I was on all kinds of medications
