Is meningococcal meningitis still affecting my sons immune system?
My son was diagnosed with meningococcal meningitis a week after his first birthday he spent a week in hospital (March 2013) and thankfully he made a speedy recovery! Since then we have had follow up appointments and hearing test's amazingly he was discharged from all after care last month (October 2013

Can dizziness or lightheadidness be be caused by both the 'Cerebellum' and the 'ears' together? Are they both connected in some way?
Just been for a hearing test and told my left ear hearing is very good (deaf in right ear). I have problems with noises in left ear and low or high pitched sounds that instantly change like the flick of a switch. Occassionally I experience sharp needle like pains in both ears although never at the same

Small rant on hearing test!
I went for a pre-hearing test at my local health centre and was told that ear pain is not a symptom of Meneirs disease? I have all the classic symptoms of Meneirs (dizziness, vertigo, nausea and tinnitus) but I also get shooting/stabbing pains in ears occasionally. I was told by the nurse who performed

Strep b meningitis
My daughter was 5 week old on 23/6/12when she had strep b meningitis. In the evening she was very restless and started vomiting and rolling back. We took her to A & E and they just grabbed her away from us and started giving her antibiotics and her lumber puncture. She spend one day at royal Berkshire

I am wondering about long term effects of Group B Strep
My son was born on April 4, 2013. He seemed totally normal and healthy. Within hours he was grunting, crying and wouldn't latch. He was evaluated and admitted to the NICU. The GBS culture grew positive in 8 hours (this is crazy to me because he is my 3rd child and every GBS test I received with each

Just been diagnosed.
My story is that in February this year, 2013 I experienced a full feeling in my ear and some loss of hearing. After suffering from excesive ear wax in previous years I thought that may have been the problem. It wasn't. Soon after the hearing loss I noticed a lack of balance, generally feeling 'tipsy

Diagnosis and Remediation of Learning Disabilities
While doing psychological testing on primary class students, finding its surprising that even a 10 year old student is not able to read and write Alphabets. Its surely a flaw in our education system that these students are not diagnosed and remediated on time.

We won't be defeated yet...
We went to my sons routine hearing test today due to the meningococcal meningitis that he had and the results weren't as good as I hoped, my son has glue ear in both ears and has to go back in 3months to see if his hearing has improved if not he will be refereed. Has anyone had hearing loss/problems

Life after the death of Meningicoccal Septicemia :-(
I lost my beautiful 91/2mth old son to Meningicoccal Septicemia 181/2yrs ago. He was a big, blue eyed boy and always smiling and contented. The day before his death my Health Visitor did his hearing test and general check up, she said he was grand. However to me he wasn't himself so I got some paracetamol
