A Week of Test and Scans (Well, almost)
I had a Heart scan yesterday, a Liver blood test today, and a Liver scan tomorrow. Then I sit back and wait to hear what they say. I never worry about any of it. I get on with my life and do whatever they ask of me. I know very little about my results numbers. I let the consultants, Liver nurses and

Getting off Thyroxin
My last blood in April was all normal, this was the very first in 20 years to be completely normal. 20 years ago I was put onto 120mg of thyroxin after a bout of quinsy along with an intense and stressful year along with a 50lb weight gain. I know it doesn't suit everyone but I lost all my weight gain

recent blood test
Hello everyone I would appreciate your thoughts on my recent blood tests. I had been advised by my endo (private) to stop taking T3 and go back to 125g Thyroxine. ( he didn’t think I was benefiting from the T3) I didn’t feel that this info was correct for me so have been taking 100g + 10g litho

Very confused by blood test results - grateful for help please
Hi All, Further to my previous posts, I continue to be very unwell, with my main symptoms being severe fatigue and disabling cognitive symptoms. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I do also have a diagnosis of CFS/ME (for what that is worth) which has fluctuated in severity for the last 22 years

1st BLOOD RESULT ON NDT
hi, thank you for looking and reading. I had a full thyroidectomy on 20 December 2022. I tried levothyroxine and was struggling to convert. I went on to NDT 7 weeks ago. I did my blood test this morning fasting and drinking only water at 7.30am, and I withheld the NDT for 24 hours. I appreciate my t3

Colchicine and Inflammation Revisited
Inflammation is one of the two principle drivers of “The Hallmarks of Cancer” which are the common drivers of progression of cancer from initiation to invasion and spread, to developing resistance to treatments and ultimately to end stage metastasis. Poor Conversion T4 to T3 update and supplement advice (Magnesium, Vit B complex, Vit C)
Nearly two months after my Medichecks blood tests and c5 weeks after GP blood test results (see previous posts) I've managed to get an answer from my GP - he has consulted the Endo at local hospital who says I'm a poor converter... Apparently current NHS guidance is to increase the amount of T4 I'm

Albumin
New paper below [1]. About 18 years ago, a man who headed a PCa group in CA told me to forget PCa-related markers - the best indicator that a man wouldn't be around in 6 months was albumin. My albumin had been 3.9 at diagnosis. I worked to reduce sub-clinical inflammation via polyphenols (inhibitors

Does anyone take Vit C with Levo?
Hi, on my journey to support levo absorption and hypothyroid symptoms, I've recently been taking B12 drops sublingually, eating chicken liver pate most days, taking levo at 3am (need the loo anyway!) and have tried Cider Vinegar (with mother) which I find too much and can't currently stomach. All

The CRP:Albumin ratio & CRPC Survival
New paper from Portugal below [1]. Here is another study showing the consequences of subclinical inflammation. The inflammation markers used were C-reactive protein [CRP] & albumin. {The useful Modified Glasgow Prognostic Score uses the same markers, but in a cruder way.} It is always better

ARTIFICIAL LIVER
Good news , maybe we don’t have to wait for a liver transplant after all. I didn’t realise that machines existed that can carry out the function of the liver, at this stage they are external like kidney dialysis. Would think you have to hooked up permanently as the liver is always working.

Is this PMR?
Hello I'm new to this site and to the world of PMR. Hoping to get some guidance from this lovely community. My GP has diagnosed me with PMR at 42 and I'm not entirely convinced as I don't fit the symptoms of aches and stiffness in the shoulders and hips. This all started in March 23 where I woke

Should I add Selenium Supplement
I am on various supplements via my old FD but Selenium is one that has never been added for me. I read so many posts on the importance of this when you have Hashi's but it's something I never added because back in 2019 I private tested and my levels were fine and I am aware if you supplement on certain
