Nearly two months after my Medichecks blood tests and c5 weeks after GP blood test results (see previous posts) I've managed to get an answer from my GP - he has consulted the Endo at local hospital who says I'm a poor converter...
Apparently current NHS guidance is to increase the amount of T4 I'm taking in order to increase the T3 so I will increase from 200 mcg daily to 225. I don't know enough about it to know if that's correct or not - I've had conflicting advice on here - some saying the reverse is needed - i.e. to reduce T4 and others say not. I've asked that he writes on the prescription 'not Teva' as I don't need any more delay/hassle by having adverse reactions.
I have another blood test - TSH T3 and T4 with GP at beginning of August
I've asked about the PPI and he's reduced the dosage from 40 to 20 mcg and confirmed that taking it at night (as far away from levo as I can) is okay. I need to take it as I'm on aspirin plus had gastritis and ulcer last year.
I've invested in the Better You Vit D3 with Calcium spray (3000 units per day) plus some folate (not folic acid!) gone back on the iron tablets and having leafy greens daily plus vit C. for the last 6 weeks or so - I do feel a bit better but definitely nowhere near 100%
Couple more questions though
Magnesium - does anyone have any recommendations for a supplement (type/brand)? - I've read different things about external application but that mainly seems to be for aches and pains - I'm thinking more of something I can take
Thornes Basic B vitamin complex - do I take this in addition to folate or should I stop folate once I start taking it?
Vitamin C - at the moment I'm adding in a small easy peeler orange each day after eating an iron source - any views on whether a Vit C supplement would be better?
As before many thanks for the collective wisdom here

Hi SlowDragon - Yes my GP agreed to get TSH T3 and T4 done and amazingly the lab complied - this was the end of march so T4 in range but high and T3 below range
Re: magnesium - I rarely see a specific brand mentioned on here, but I take this one after it was recommended:Doctor's Best has a high potency magnesium supplement (100mg elemental Mg per tablet). It is an amino acid chelate (Magnesium Lysinate Glycinate ).
I found this advice on this site:
Magnesium - you have to decide which form is best suited to you, nobody can tell you. Check here:naturalnews.com/046401_magn...The following link is included purely to describe the different forms of magnesium, ignore the fact that it mentions calcium is necessary, calcium is only necessary if you test and found to be deficient and then your GP should address thatexplore.globalhealing.com/t...and ignore the fact that this is a supplement company, the information is relevant:swansonvitamins.com/blog/ar...look at the amount of elemental magnesium. The dose of elemental magnesium generally suggested is 350-450mg daily.Magnesium should be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds and as it tends to be calming it's best taken in the evening.
Vit D should also be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds
. Vit K2-MK7 should be taken 2 hours away from thyroid meds. Don't take D3 and K2 at the same time unless both are oil based supplements, they both are fat soluble vitamins which require their own fat to be absorbed otherwise they will compete for the fat.
