Recent test results 'Satisfactory' - NOT! - and any advice about supplements on which order to take?
I've just looked online at my latest test results and the top box from my surgery says 'Result -
Satisfactory
' and 'What you need to do -
No Further Action
'. Quick history... I've got hashimotos, diagnosed in 2018, started on levothyroxine in 2020, noticed significant hair thinning/loss

Growing Challenge - Pea Shoots
Who wants to join me to see how each of us get on?
This autumn is going to be a first for me. Not sure how it will turn out but I will be growing Pea Shoots and picking them fresh for my salad. No more bagged pea shoots from the supermarket and in the long term will be cheaper and much fresher

NDT and vitamin recommendations
After 20 years of Hashimotos I've had enough of GP's and Levothyroxine. I went to a private clinic and no suprise - I am very low on T3. She has prescribed slow release T3 5mcg but (maybe impatient) I feel no better. I've just discovered this site and read about NDT. Sounds like a better plan.

Medichecks Result and a warning about testing & HRT
Apologies for the long post (my first) and thank you if you manage to get to the end of it. Bit of history first (there's more in my bio), after 7 years of being bedbound with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, I was finally prescribed combination T3/T4 in 2018. I hadn't had my bloods checked since 2019

This might be of interest for anyone who struggles to raise their iron levels or is frequently anaemic or nearly anaemic
I should point out that this paper is old. It was first published in 2000. The second thing I want to point out is that it has 176 references, which to my mind is quite bizarre, but some of them could be of interest. And thirdly, the link is to the abstract only but there is an option to "Save PDF

Vitamins?
I've been struggling with asthma which comes and goes - when it goes I am fine - this might last for month. I have restrictive lung disease - where a person of my height should be able to breath in 400 I can only breath in 200 at best, sometimes only 75. I've been researching all of this a lot for

Help! Struggling to get a diagnosis
To give you some background, I have suspected that I have an under active thyroid for about 20 years. It is the only thing that makes sense when I read the symptoms, I have practically all of them. In addition, my mother has an under active thyroid and my grandmother and great grandmother on my father

Gluten-free diet and vitamin D uptake in patients with Hashimoto disease
This paper demonstrates that gluten-free diets with Hashimoto's may have an influence on vitamin D uptake. Just a thing to be aware of. Gluten-free diet attenuates the impact of exogenous vitamin D on thyroid autoimmunity in young women with autoimmune thyroiditis: a pilot study October 2022

Seeing endo on Monday – question about low TSH/hypothyroidism
Hi all, I’m still working to get an official diagnosis for the complicated mess of adrenal/thyroid/pituitary conditions I’ve been experiencing for the past few years and have a much-awaited appt with my endo on Monday. I get super nervous before any appts for fear of not communicating clearly enough

Urinary Tract Infection
I think I am starting a UTI - usual symptoms - burning, cloudy urine etc. Only just started. Is this more common with PMR? I am taking large doses of vitamin C and I have some D-Mannose. Any other recommendations? I wonder if this is the reason for a flare of PMR symptoms as well - have been stiff

An unpleasant surprise....
Hello all, Following the sensible advice on this forum, I have been following a slow and cautious tapering of prednisone, and current at a very low dose of 0.75 mg/week (three 1/4 mg days and four days no Prednisone). My steps down per week were 0.25 mg/week. I have been feeling generally OK, so

CA19.9 Tumor markers and Prostate Cancer
Hi group, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a link between blood test CA19.9 and prostate cancer. A bit of background I have been on AS since December 2021 where I made some life style changes, mainly diet and exercise since being diagnosed. My PCA has gone from 3.1, 3, 2.3, 2.0 and the

Taking a Long Haul flight with Varices?
Hi everyone, This is my first post here - and grateful to find you all! I have stage one liver chirrhosis as a result of having hepatitis C - which I cleared in 2016 - In January this year after an episode of finding black stools, I had an investigative endoscopy finding 4 grade 2 oesophagus varices

Help with interpreting results
Hi everyone, would like your opinions on my latest results please, have had PMR 5 years next month. C reactive protein, 6mg/L (0.0-5.0) above high reference level and ESR 10mm/h (1.0-35.0) I don’t think I’ve ever been below 25mm ESR before. Just on week 4 reduction from 5 to 4-1/2 pred. I feel reasonable
