Advice Please
Hi everyone. I have had 16 gynaecological operations starting at aged 13 and ending 23 years ago a day before my 40th birthday when I had an emergency hysterectomy where for some reason they left my cervix. Following my op they tried HRT but my BP shot up so I was taken off it. Urinary incontinence

tear in my meniscus cartilage
What a difference two weeks can make. Two weeks ago I you asked if I should attempt a taper to try to force my adrenals to wake up. The circumstances were not very good and you advised me to leave it for a while so I took your advice. A few days later I somehow got a tear in the cartilage of my knee

Looking for TKR advice
By November ‘23 I decided I wanted to get myself on the waiting list for the
knee
replacement
surgery
but even though my pain is worse, with more frequent flare ups and my GP has requested a referral, I have been told it could be months before I even get a consultation let alone get on the waiting list

Help with tapering Prednisone
I was diagnosed with PMR finally in Oct 23 after ending up in hospital unable to move. Doctors have been very dismissive and I have seen rheumatologist once and been signed off. I started on Prednisone at 12.5mg then reduced to 10 mg and have been told to reduce by 1mg per month. Is this a realistic

Chondocalcitis incurable?
At least that's how I think it's spelt. It's a specialised form of RA and I have it in my left knee (along with normal RA in shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers. It's also called Pseudogout but as the crystals in Chondocalcitis are calcium they can't be dispersed as the uric acid crystals in ordinary

1 year on from heart attack and stent fitted. Still struggling.
I walked to the hospital for an appointment today, for a pre-op for a knee replacement. The hospital is only half a mile. On the way back I was out of breath and experiencing pain in the top left hand side of my chest and light-headed, and I had to sit and catch my breath. At the pre-op they checked

Turns out while she’s taking care of him she needed
knee
replacement
surgery
on both knees. Unfortunately she got a MRSA Infection so needless to say she lost her leg and saved her life. She laughed and said because it was the left leg. She could still drive.

knee replacement
hi, I’m due to have a knee replacement in a few weeks and wondered if anyone who has had the procedure experienced any issues. I’m aware of my issues regarding medication ie allergy to warfarin but ok with heparin and have opted for an epidural but my concern is with the implant itself being rejected

I’ve been put in the waiting list to have a total knee replacement and the waiting list is approx 6 months. I’m on 17.5 mgs of pred. The surgeon has said my healing might be slow because of the pred. Had anyone else had a knee replacement while on a higher dose of pred? I’m a little worried about having

CHANGE OF BIOLOGIC TREATMENT
Hello, I have had Rheumatoid arthritis since my late 30s (77 now). I had several biologic treatments , some of which did not really control the RA well… The best biologic was Enbrel (Etanercept) weekly injections. It gave me my life back for 14 years until I had my second knee replacement operation

Has anyone had non-liver related
surgery
, such as a
knee
or hip? I guess the primary risk would be infection and types of anesthesia and antibiotics..? Is anyone familiar with this?

My Story
I've had RLS since childhood and didn't know that I had the malady. Of recent years, it has gotten worse and I was placed on 1mg Pramipexole which worked almost adequately. After some months/years, I returned to see my Primary Care Doctor and they said it was alright if I took 1/2 tablet more of

Considering knee replacement surgery but ....
My main concern about
knee
surgery
revolves around during and after-surgery medication, infections, steroids and any decrease in kidney function. With my creatine increasing from 1.8 to 2.0 over 7 year, my Nephrologist has told me I should not need dialysis in my lifetime.
