When is a side effect not a side effect?
The NHS give the definition of "side effects" as "Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medical treatment." See: https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/medicines/what-are-side-effects/ So far, so reasonable. But, what does the definition mean in practice? I was searching for an answer

Why can't I drive if sinemet is helping the symptoms?
Had a 3-month checkup today. Both doctors say I'm improved in the arm rigidity. Because of tremor I mentioned Stedi-One. She responded, "Internet?" When I said yes they both rolled their eyes. She said we can try Botox injections in my arm and wrist. I go back for PT next month. Botox

Rytary questions
HI. Diagnosed 13 years ago, I’ve progressed slowly. I have kept active, attended to exercise, diet, used sinemet not agonists (because the latter didn’t seem to work). However, now sinemet ‘offs’ are too strong and frequent to deal with easily. I’ve been taking Sinemet 25-100 tablets for about 10 years

What's this about Sinemet being addictive?
I'm up to Sinemet 25--100 1.5 tabs three times a day. During the exam last month the neuro saw signs of PD but mild enough I never noticed them. So if I'm improving I can't tell. Every day I spend 2-3 hours on the treadmill walking at various inclines. Because of a weak back I've been

Initial Sinemet Dose
With the hope of maintaining my exercise routine, I have begun taking 25/100 sinemet. I was diagnosed in May, 2018, and my symptoms began approximately 6 months before that. My neurologist told me to begin with 1/2 pill the first week three times per day. If that isn't sufficient, increase to a full

Open mouth breathing
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's 3+ years ago. He's done well with the regimen of Sinemet. I've noticed in the few weeks his breathing is pretty much all done through open mouth . I'm his personal trainer too and when we walk or exercise, he breathes in through his nose and out through

Anyone else taking Ongentys?
For the past 6-8 months my levodopa has not been doing the job. My dosage was one 50/200 mg Sinemet ER (Extended Release) and one 25/100 CR (Continuous Release) every three hours. I also was taking two Selegiline 5 mg daily. I was wearing off in 2 hours. If i waited till my next 3 hour dosing time,

Any history of jaw snapping in RLS?
Hi everyone, I am new here, from New Zealand and am newly disposed with RLS. As an RN I suspected but its only 5 months ago with my new partner that I found out that I am moving around, kicking, and basically behaving weirdly in my sleep. He has shown me in some videos, its astounding. I have been

Sinemet and Mucuna
Is anyone dosing with a combination of Sinemet and Barlowe's Mucuna Pruriens and how do you manage them? I am trying to cut down on c/l intake and take the more "natural" mucuna.

How important is food with Sinemet?
I started back on Sinemet two days ago; 100/25 One half tab TID for one week, then one tab TID for one week then 1.5 TID for one week then a recheck. The neuro said it's important to take it with food. When I tried Sinemet last year I remember something about taking it on an empty stomach--either

New location, new neuro
I posted under new location, new doctor. But I can't send a photo to an existing file so had to start a new thread. I'm sending a photo of my discharge instructions. This doctor concurs with the other neuro; I have PD. But maybe also MS. So I'm back on Sinemet. She saw weakness and

Jaw tightness with Sinemet
Whenever I take my sinemet and it starts to work, about half an hour after taking it, I get this tightness in my jaw which affects my speech. It’s like my jaw is wired shut. This goes away as the meds wear off. Very frustrating. I can either take my meds and be able to function but can’t speak well or

Symptoms
I was reading some other posts and I wondered about my symptoms and why they seem to be worse than any one elses. I was diagnosed in 2013 and have progressed pretty fast. I now have to use a walker to walk and I feel "drunk" everyday. And no, I don't drink. My eyes don't work well anymore and I

Introduction
Hi I’m new to this site, but glad to join. As background: I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016. I began treatment in 2017 with the Agonist NeuPro. All was good for a year till I developed a reaction at the patch site. I discontinued the patch and started with 2mg Ropinirole, which was later increased
