Why can't I drive if sinemet is helping the symptoms?

Had a 3-month checkup today. Both doctors say I'm improved in the arm rigidity. Because of tremor I mentioned Stedi-One. She responded, "Internet?" When I said yes they both rolled their eyes. She said we can try Botox injections in my arm and wrist. I go back for PT next month. Botox if insurance allows it.

Hate to be snarky but the doctors and nurses and office staff are all obese. I imagine if they weren't I would have less problem following their suggestions.

Who says you are not allowed to drive?

I don't know if something like that can be "Ordered" but three months ago she recommended I stop driving. I ignored her recommendation. Today she repeated the suggestion. I still plan to ignore it.

Be careful you don’t invalidate your insurance. If you have an accident and insurer investigates and finds out you were advised not to drive you could be in big trouble, especially if you injure anyone else.

The Stedi-one device does have a 30 day money back guarantee, if you think it might help. Anyone tried one? Looks interesting.

I tried the Stedi-one glove and found no relief. It was before I started Senimet. I returned it for a full refund.

Had to stop my husband from driving, due to other factors besides tremor. He was evaluated at the local hospital at the request of his neurologist, and they wouldn’t even let him take a test drive, after conducting their in-house tests. PD changes to his brain have made it difficult to notice & react to what he sees, possibly related to reduction in contrast perception. He also has difficulty processing the entire picture, especially on his non-dominant side, and accurately judging where his body is in relation to what he sees. He continues to (angrily) insist that he’s perfectly able to drive, even though he would be a danger to himself and/or others. He doesn’t realize that subtle but serious damage has been done to his cognitive processes. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE listen to your doctor, & stop driving, before someone gets hurt (or worse).

The doctor has to tell me why. The only problem I'm seeing is lousy handwriting.

I was nervous about this exam because it was to include 'mental function' tests. At the start I was asked to remember three words: floor, ball and pen. Then asked to count backwards from 20, I thought I might respond, "You want it in English, German or Spanish." But at the last moment decided not to be a smart-ass.

I was asked the date, month and year then asked my birthday then was asked about the three words. I'd had a lot of coffee that morning so I did everything at lightning speed. Including reciting the three words and counting backwards.

I had done the three-words-test earlier this year. The nurse was astonished that I remembered all three. She said nobody remembers all three. For that first test there were probably three times as many questions as this later exam.

Mnemonic is a way of remembering stuff. I've used it since college. For the three words I visualized using a pen to bounce a ball on the floor. And when I was asked later about the words I instantly I saw myself using a pen to bounce a ball off the floor.

I don't think I've deteriorated mentally so why is my driving in jeopardy? I have balance issues but not when at the wheel of my pickup. And not while getting in or out of the seat.
