Sinemet PM Issues -

During the day my 25-250 dose Sinemet lasts about 5 hours, In the PM only 2-3 hours. Is there anyway to stretch PM time

I take it you are taking the immediate release, "IR", formulation of Sinemet. There are time-release formulations such as Sinemet CR, carbidopa levodopa ER and Rytary that have a more steady and long-lasting release of levodopa.

Parkbear, I believe that some MDS doctors are already prescribing long acting/aka extended release versions of Levodopa as first line of treatment. They just skip the instant release version.

Have to inquire further with Dr. This is getting to the toxic state, Tnx for input, I will check out options with Dr.

Are you more active daytime versus nighttime? Are you dosing 30-45 minutes before eating? I sometimes cheat on times and depending on what we are having pay the price. I have more on time if I'm doing some light activity. I too have less on time in the evenng, not to your extent. Help is on the way.

I try to be. I suffer from a multiplicity of other issues: Trigeminal Neuralgia, Severe Hypertensive Issues PM, Severe Tinnitus and Ear Pain, Neuropathy, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Spinal stenosis. I live on pain meds and RX compatibility is a serious problem. That might be the problem or a part of the problem.

I have the same issue if I eat much protein during the day (even a few seeds or an avocado or buckwheat etc affect levodopa efficacy a lot for me.) Presumably you know about the interaction between other proteins and levodopa?

I have become so obsessed with protein and eating on a empty stomach that a review of my daily log by the Dr. might help with diagnosis.
