I was reading some other posts and I wondered about my symptoms and why they seem to be worse than any one elses. I was diagnosed in 2013 and have progressed pretty fast. I now have to use a walker to walk and I feel "drunk" everyday. And no, I don't drink. My eyes don't work well anymore and I still have problems with constipation. Anyone have any ideas. I read somewhere that if you have no tremors you progress faster. Seems to be true with me. I take7 25/100 ir sinemet each day along with 6 25/100 cr sinemet and I also use a Neupro patch 4 mg.
Symptoms: I was reading some other posts... - Cure Parkinson's
Symptoms
I see thiamine hcl is missing.
Exercise
Try B1, hope it works for you.
PP
I don't think B1 or exercise is going to make the significant difference. I think you need further neurological investigation to see if the diagnosis is correct.
If you have no tremors I think the disease is not as easy to control with c/l etc. There are also syndromes which are often not diagnosed immediately but can take a couple of years. Good luck.
I think progress is very different for each person, and probably faster if you are older.
Are you able to exercise at all? That seems to help.
To remedy constipation – high-dose vitamin B1, also known as thiamine, to restore normal peristalsis. High-dose vitamin C and/ or docusate sodium to restore normal moisture.
By feeling drunk do you mean dizzy?
I have low tremors and mostly motor impairment. My progression has been very slow, maybe halted.
You are taking a lot of medication. What happens if you cut back a little bit?
Hi Park, my husband takes a total of 1000 mg of B1 daily. Some days he suffers from constipation. Should he take a higher dose? He has the low tremors and like you mostly motor impairment at this point.
I get that "drunk" feeling too on occasion, kind of like dizzy but not exactly like it. Once experienced it during an inadvertent overdose of cough syrup. Never have understood it or been able to do much but wait it out, usually a few hours.
I wonder if that feeling is caused by a neurotoxin , from a toxin from fish, or maybe mercury which has been released from cells or food. I get a similar feeling and I think it seems to occur sometimes when I have had fish or coriander, sometimes kidney or black beans, and once when I cleaned my teeth with a natural toothpaste containing tea tree and later found both my shampoo and deodorant also had it. That time I felt so weird I had someone take me to the emergency department at the hospital just in case I was having a stroke or something and of course they treated me like a complete idiot and sent me to the psych department for observation because I said I felt like I had been poisoned. (I don’t have PD, my hubby does so I think that feeling might not necessarily be PD related.)
Get in touch with John Pepper, he is not speaking rubbish. You need to move to assist with your current regime of meds.
This is proven scientifically, the less you do the more Parkinson's will take over.
It may sound like a joke but it's not, it's hard to start but once you do it gets easier, it's a hard pill to swallow but it will work.
I wish you the best 😀
sounds like me after my honeymoon period which lasted 10 yrs. then....WHAM. hang tough.
are you seeing a Movement Disorder Specialist or a general Neurologist? I'd get a second opinion and remember to NOT blame everything on PD. Our bodies are complex structures and not everything you experience is PD related.
Wow I thought you were talking about me I have the same Symptoms as You do. I also take 7 100/25 mg levocarb and 2 100/25 mg levocarb CR at night
For constipation I take 3 magnesium citrate 150 mg. Every night it seems to be working. I get mine at Costco it is pretty cheap there
My neurologist thinks it is my blood pressure so she took me off my blood pressure meds and she is going to see me in a month, but she said the dizziness is due to my Parkinsonism
I’m 59 and was diagnosed in 2015
If blood pressure suspected it is worth it to get your own blood pressure cuff and check it when you are feeling "drunk" or dizzy. Also worth checking for orthostatic hypotension - compare your blood pressure sitting (or lying down) with your blood pressure standing up. Ideally they should be the same.
Mannitol got rid of my husband's "drunk" feeling, which he had every day. It disappeared within days of starting on it. He's stopped using his walker and he is now able to exercise so much more. See my post on it.
Surprising to me that no one is interested in your age, height and weight before dispensing advice, three things I'd consider particularly relevant in light of your use of a walker.
What are they?
Cris,
This is private data, you shouldn't ask directly.
Because you've never asked me for my personal health information 🙄
There's literally nothing wrong with asking, since they can opt not to provide them if they aren't comfortable.
Trolling is better when it isn't quite so obvious, FYI.
This is biometric data, as an expert on the subject you should understand the difference.
If I've broken the rules, please report my post.
It was just a modest suggestion.
I always learn new things from you about using the web.
Like the use you make of post correction after receiving the response.
It was an obvious attempt at starting an argument like you've done several times before. I've no interest in your 'suggestions' and you are well aware of this. Remember when you claimed I was a 'spam troll' without PD and that I should give you a wide berth? Odd that you still feel the need to follow me around.
You are also proficient at deleting and reposting (a different message), like you did in this very thread ('it was a advice').
