SLE & 🦷
I am absolutely devastated this morning. My tooth crumbled when I was eating brown bread. I’ve had 2 dental abscesses in 4 months. I look after my teeth. I lost 2 teeth years ago (I didn’t know I had SLE) and was fobbed off by dentist as it must be my poor dental hygiene. Now I’m here again. I feel

Moderna Vaccine Side Effects
Has anyone had the Moderna vaccine and experienced a worsening of their edema or joint swelling? Mine is usually limited to my lower body and joints, but now even my face is retaining extra fluid. Sound familiar? I had all the other side effects. Not a fun ride, but sans tiredness and the headache

Anybody take Bactrim?
Hi, I was just put on Bactrim, which is an anti biotic, to go with my high dose of Prednisone. Rheumatologist says it is to keep from getting pneumonia.

Introduction of myself, PMF, from China
Hi, I'm Qi, from China, I'm 34 years old this year. I confirmed PMF in 2017. At that time, the splenomegaly was high, but it was not very high, and it was not so high all the time. These symptoms began to happen to me one after another as early as 2013. JAK2V617F gene mutation, there is only one mutation

Probably the greatest dilemma of my life.
Currently going through double lung transplant assessments due to IPF.One strict no go which strikes you off the list is cancer as , quite rightly, donated healthy lungs should go to those who have a longer chance of survival . Now the dilemma... discovered a great lump in my neck which may or may not

Very confused 🤷‍♀️
Hi, So not really endo related but I had a liver scan today and after the doctor had finished he said, that my liver was a little fatty and also he noticed something in my liver he was not sure if it was a cyst or something else. He then said he was not sure if he just wanted to do the scan again

Coming out of lockdown safely
Hello everyone, I haven’t been on after I had my transplant in 2018. Since then, I have been campaigning for organ donation and raising awareness about organ donation too. I started an online campaign event platform inviting different renal health professionals to come speak and provide advice and

🤞🏻 Upcoming appointments
Well my son has his appointment for 1st COVID vaccination on the 12/5 but my hubby still to have his 2nd. I have high hopes for appointments next week 🤞🏻I really need this operation for a rectocele repair, it has become so really bad I’d class it as urgent. If the consultant isn’t operating yet there

Sleeping kidney after transplant
Hi, My partner has just had a
kidney
transplant
6 days ago. He is 31 years old. He had 9% function before he received the kidney and wasn’t on dialysis beforehand. He’s in hospital and due to Covid he’s alone and I can’t go. He’s not great at talking to Doctors and I’m not getting any information.

Harefield Lung Transplant
Hi, I am on the lung transplant list at QE Hospital Birmingham, but surgery there is still suspended and will be until June at the earliest. I am therefore going to be seen at Harefield in the hope I can go on their list. I’ve been on Birmingham’s list since July, but with no transplants since January

Undiagnosed and positive ANA
I joined in 2013 with a positive ANA Test 1:80 Nucleolar pattern suggesting schleroderma. I had follow up tests and no diagnosis. I’ve had 3 failed Endoscopes, as I woke up from sedation grabbing the camera, so Gastro has never found out, why I choke when eating, barium swallow confirmed GERD, I have

Egfr results
I had an appt with my renal consultant on the 26th April which was canx & re-scheduled for 10th May. I went onto patient view & checked my bloods etc from previous week. I am not sure if I am worrying unnecessarily but my creatine was 125 & egfr was 38. I checked back on previous results & my 1st

Good news for those suffering from heart failure, you CAN recover, I DID, thanks God.
First sorry for long post but it could be really helpful to those with heart failure. Nov 2019 ejection fraction at 15% , Mitral valve regurgitations (means not even pumping the 15% out correctly!), Got steadily worse, movement severely restricted, 80-year-old man fitter than me..and i was very fit

improved catheter
I have been having great difficulty urinating and most recently it has become scary. I live in the middle of nowhere, a trip to a competent hospital is 2 hours and a good one with a urologist on-call is 3 hours (if we drive the Rover without regard for speed limits) So it can be very scary to have retention

Lung transplant list
So today I learned my lung transplant journey has come to an end. My body has failed me whilst my mind is still breakdancing. An osteoporotic fracture in my spine is one risk too many for me to receive the gift of new lungs - it was going to be an already high risk operation due to my many complications
