Anyone’s gfr from their labs differ from gfr calculators?
My labs show a different gfr than what the calculators show. Is it bc there’s other blood related factors that get equated? Bc my creatinine has remained at 1.10 and bun 20 for over 10 years but over the years my blood labs show my gfr going from 96-70 in about 10 years. Note I didn’t get labs done

I don’t know how relevant it is but I’m a 33 year old male and I’m diabetic due to having received a
kidney
transplant
, and naturally on a boat load of medication for this.

6 monthly assessment
Quick update regarding a question I had a couple of months ago. I was worried that I would not be able to perform the walk test at my my 6 monthly check up for my lung transplant. I took your advise, gritted my teeth and increased my oxygen. I managed 4 minutes of slow walking, rested and then completed

Covid -19, still a big risk for some - 2.
I posted this tread up some three months ago just as a warning to others who like me are immunosuppressed. At this time, there are estimated to be around 44% of organ transplanted people who still didn't produce any Covid antibodies. Some of you will remember Jenny who use to frequent this forum, Jenny

UTI and E.Coli
I’ve been ill for 12 weeks so been off my methotrexate. I’ve had 4 loads of blood tests done and 3 urine infections where I was really ill. Vomiting, fever, nausea, chronic fatigue, I’ve lost 10kilos! Turns out I had a kidney infection and it was resistant to the antibiotics the GP prescribed. I spoke

Life expectancy with MF
Hello, all. I was diagnosed with post ET MF in 2019, after having been diagnosed with ET jak 2 in 2008. In 2019, I had my second BMB where it was confirmed I had progressed to MF, intermediate 1. I had a third BMB last September to determine whether I was a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. At

Besremi versus Pegasys
This question was raised by Flynn2107 months ago. I looked into it and replied there but it seems worth a new post with the recent FDA approval. PEG and Ropeg (Besremi) use polyethylene glycol (PEG) to control the release of the INF molecule. The earliest INFs had less of a control element and more

creatine ?
I have a question please - have tried, but without success to find an answer : I have a good eGFR result, but my creatine is high - I am sticking to a low protein diet which has helped raise my eGFR but has no affect on my high creatine level? What can I do to bring my creatine level down ? Also,

Now hearing there won’t be a way for me to have kids safely without a new
kidney
. Not only that but insurance won’t cover a
transplant
unless you are below 20%… it’s like I have to wait to get more sick. I found out I had this because of my severe migraines and high blood pressure.

Mom recurrence after 4 years remission
Still i am in stress… my mom had OC 2017, that 4 years silent, and may 2021 it was back. throughout the abdomen and lymph nodes of the abdomen, around the liver, she was treated with the same platinum chemo. Do anyone have in first recurrence have same chemo as in first time? I think it worked very good
