Has anyone had the Moderna vaccine and experienced a worsening of their edema or joint swelling? Mine is usually limited to my lower body and joints, but now even my face is retaining extra fluid.
Sound familiar?
I had all the other side effects. Not a fun ride, but sans tiredness and the headache (and feeling a bit down) the edema is the only thing that just won’t go away. Frustrating and painful 😣

I had AstraZeneca but have had lupus flare issue post vaccine. I’m sorry. Please make sure you have your rheumatologist reports this and hope it subsides.
Your mast cells will release their various mediators into your lymphatic system as part of your immune response. If your lymph is already tending to be a bit stagnant, rather than happily free-flowing, more swelling is logical. (And potentially more inflammation, joint pain, histamine reactions etc etc). If you are able to move more it should help, as should belly breathing. I do a little set of exercises/massage/tapping and concentrate on the collar bone area and down the sides of the neck below the ears. It is especially useful if I don't feel able to get out for a walk. Proceed with caution and gently until you see what you can tolerate without making it worse. (I find even self-massage can make mast cells break down more so I get more symptoms. I know some people have professional lymph massage and are ok, so we are all different and it can vary depending on other factors, like weather, hormones, foods) vimeo.com/518602280/10e438aa3a This was a short bonus clip from a recent lymphatic summit that I found useful. Best wishes
I had my second moderna the first week of April and other than a sore arm the only change I had was positive. An almost fourteen year old planter’s wart on my toe miraculously disappeared. Not all side effects are causation more often it is just correlation but sometimes positive corrections occur too I guess.
