Kidney
failure
is mentioned amongst other things. I’m wondering if anyone out there has any understanding or experience of this. My PMR is currently settled at 5.5mg of Pred and I aim to start a slow reduction to 5mg at the end of this week.

I have had
kidney
disease for sometime. I am now in
kidney
failure
/last stage. This is all very new to me. I tried to to get a fistula in December 2023 and it failed. I am now scheduled for an AV graft which I am dreading. Does anyone have one of those?

Endo/cyst on the kidney after MRI - could this happen to you?
I know this might indicate deep infiltrating endometriosis on the
kidney
/ureter or... I know that endo can lead to
kidney
failure
(but it is said to be rare). Did anyone of you check their kidney health? Did they find endo near or on your kidney (cysts or lesions)?

I am still struggling with treatment decisions - Help please.
HT is a significant risk for my solitary low eGFR
kidney
ie AKI or
kidney
failure
. I therefore don't want HT. There are numerous papers on the risk. There is also QOL considerations being 77+. Mark Scholz not positive about HT for over 75s.

Another question, I’ve read that 50% of people diagnosed reach
kidney
failure
within 10 years. What happens to the other 50% and those that do get there, does that mean dialysis air transplant? I start steroids and immunosuppressants tomorrow. Will I be on those forever? Any advice for any of this?

Question
I know this has to do with kidney function because when he had the original prostatectomy in 2014 he had a severe reaction to Toradol, went into acute
kidney
failure
and spent 11 days in the hospital while they figured that out. Blood work shows creatinine still stable at .93.

Lupkinis plus MMF most effective in lupus nephritis; tacrolimus safest
If not appropriately treated, it may compromise the kidneys’ ability to remove waste and lead to
kidney
failure
. Treating lupus nephritis usually includes immunosuppressive medications and glucocorticoids, which improve kidney function and reduce mortality.
