Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly it’s better than the surgery, a 15 minute procedure, and can be done in the office. I have had 4th stage kidney failure the last couple of years, and holding my own, so far, and am 77 year old male.

urethral constriction
Hi Phillip46, i dont know how much use i am to you, i had my bladder removed and a urostomy performed almost 22 years ago but have so far had very few problems except a procedure called a Loopagram which did not go as planned and actually left me very ill indeed so not much help there I'm afraid. If you could give me a layman's version of your problem i may understand more. Sorry for rambling. Love and light

Hey willow, hope you’re feeling okay now. And thanx for the reply. So I had my bladder/ prostrate removed 10 years ago. Had kidney stones and complications afterwards. Also stage 4 kidney disease. My urologist said I have constriction, narrowing of, my ureters, so he puts a stent ,tube,, through my stoma. Just read about Optilume, something new for the constriction. I think they did a loopagram on me too, and that’s how they found the constriction.
