Continuing to take 2 steps forward one step back- think this is common for many of us. The GCA, osteoporosis, gastrointestinal problems and now extremely labile blood pressure, and heart rate dropping into low 40's is being evaluated. Thankfully my medical care has been superior. BUT, today we received such devastating news. Our grandson has cancer - paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma. In staging process now. Strong, healthy happy 16 yr old. We are so sad. Can't see him, only one parent can be with him in hospital ... damn cancer, damn covid19, damn ...

So sad
Very sorry to hear this news about your grandson, life is unfair. All good wishes for his complete recovery x
Oh no spanky, devastating news. I can only keep my fingers crossed for you both and send lots and lots of positive energy and love to you all. Big hugs. 💜
Not a lot to say really... except be strong and best wishes to all.💐
But at least he went to the doctor - and 10 years ago the survival without complications wasn't too bad. Must be better now.
My OH had a strange version of testicular cancer 26 years ago - still here.
Virtual hugs for you - and pass them on to him and his parents virtually too xxxxxx
Thinking of you. Xx
Not many posts reduce me to tears, but this struck me as so unfair. Don't give up hope, he is receiving treatment, keep strong. xx
Not the kind of news anyone expects to hear but treatment is good now, my eldest son's best friend was diagnosed with testicular cancer 12 years ago whilst at uni and still here going strong with his career in place too there's always hope 🤞
All my love and big hugsxxx YBB
Oh Spanky how devastating and how desperately you will need to see him.
I pray that this healthy, happy boy comes through this. Be strong for them and for you. 🌹♥️

Rough times. Sending you positive energy from across the pond.
Oh no! They do amazing things these days and it sounds like it's been caught early. Positive thoughts and wishes for a speedy and happy outcome are coming to you from Panama.
Spanky-
I am so sorry. It is frightening enough to have your grandson diagnosed with cancer, and how your heart must ache to be with him.
Testicular cancer typical shows up in young men. My father had it in 1945, when he was 33. He had one tetsicle removed and massive radiation to the pelvis. He was an airline pilot and had to take a year off from flying. He lived a full lif, with no cancer recurrence and died in 1991 at age 79. There was a little hiccup along the way. They thought he would be sterile. When my parents found out they had a baby on the way, my mother was 43 and she was not amused. But that son, my little brother, became the joy of their life. He is now 69 and is as wonderful a father to his sons as my dad was to him.
I hold in my heart the trust that the incredible strides that have been made in treating this cancer since 1945 will pull him through and that he will be well and have a full life ahead.
