Triptorelin GnRH-a 2nd shot due

I’m due excision at end of August & surgeon started me on Triptorelin GnRH-a injection to reduce pain and shrink cysts & whatever else is going on inside. I feel my pain has significantly increased so wondering if I should really have the second shot, that is due in two weeks time? What are your thoughts and experiences with these Hormone shots?

I’m on Zoladex, had two, third next week. I’m still struggling, but have been told it can take 2-3 to start to work.

I’m trying to get a plan B in place if they aren’t working

Hey Stacylee,

I was due my operation for my large cyst end of April, but due to coronavirus it got cancelled until further notice. I’ve had to have another shot of Decepeptyl that lasts for another 3 months. Are you having monthly injections or the 3 month shot? My first few weeks on it were the worst. It hurt to urinate, still had pains, but it got better after a few weeks. I’ve been on it now for 4 months. I’ve got no pain, nothing. The only thing I get with it is constant hot and cold flushes and bed sweats. It’s a pain in the arse but I’d rather that then the pain. Keep an eye on the side effects and go back to your doctor if your body hasn’t taken well to it in a few weeks time. X

Thank you. I have the 3 monthly shots, due my second shot beginning of June. My pains are worse than ever. My GP has been in touch with my gynaecologist, he’s put me on his priority list 🤞🏼long story short I should have been on surgery list for January but somehow got forgotten. Good luck..

Hello,

I got my cysts removed in November (I was rushed in the OR because the cysts were huge) and then I’ve had 2 decapeptyl injections (3month shot). At first it was very difficult my mood was very depressed, I had hot flushes, but after a couple of months I got used to it. I was wondering the same thing as u, before my second shot, especially since I want to get pregnant and couldn’t wait any longer, but I trust my doctor and I knew that this was the procedure I had to follow.

Have faith, patience and trust. Wish you the best.

Hi! I’m on the same. The pain will increase to begin with because your body is changing. After the second injection, things will begin to “shut down” and the pain should decrease.

I’m sadly one of the ladies it hasn’t worked for so I’m still in pain. But, something I was assured of at the start was that there would be increased pain to begin with because your hormones are being thrown into something they aren’t prepared for x
