Supporting parents
Hi all, I'm new here and am seeking support on how to be of help to my parents in IL while I'm in IA, as my Dad (who is a kidney transplant recipient) skin cancer gets progressively worse, and my mom (who was Dad's donor) is in denial that she is depressed and is in need of help. In 2003 Mom donated

Help with support about seeing the room you was in ICU Hi. I was ICU for about 7 weeks and most of it I was in Coma. I have terrible memories of it and wanted to speak to someone about it. I am going through the hospital support but it’s very slow moving. I do want to clear my head but I feel that it

Meds
I had a successful kidney transplant on 2/11/21 however at that time I was also diagnosed with Parkinsonism and put on Carbidopa/Levodopa. I have struggled since then with agitation and jitters. Maybe on too many meds or the wrong ones. Is there anyone out there who has Parkinsonism and also on

Anion gap redux, potassium?
Recently i saw on here a discussion of low anion gap. I tried searching on HU but only found posts by people talking about other diseases, so clearly not the post and discussion I recall. Can anyone direct me to that discussion? If not, can anyone summarize the significance of low anion gap? Just

I've been blessed
On 2/22/22, I received an anonymous live donor kidney transplant. I was totally blown away but so very grateful for this gift. I will be forever thankful and appreciative for this opportunity to give back and support others on their journey. My only regret is that I will not be able to personally thank

Bladder pain associated with IBS?
Hallo , I have had IBS most of my life, but not particularly troublesome until the last 3 years. I am now 72 and in the last 2 months have been visited with bladder pain and frequent urination at night. Also a feeling of lack of vigour or force in the bladder and it hurts more as it fills up rather

Ckd stage 2 confirmed
Gfr 76-89ml/min/1.73m2 The diagnosis of ckd is now officially because of my malformation (smaller pelvic right kidney) confirmed… The doctor said I should be checking it once per year but is it actually enough? What could I do to prevent the progression? Is it ok to take medication (ACR or other drugs

Has anyone with TP53 changes been diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome?
I know TP53 plays a role in diagnosing and treating CLL, but I also found that Li-Fraumeni and TP53 are related. I was wondering if anyone here has been tested and diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni as well as CLL. Here is additional information on Li-Fraumeni: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases

Third Jevtana/Carboplatin treatment completed. Total of 10 chemo treatments are now completed overall. Hoping for better results.
PSA increase as seen above. My oncologist's response was "This may be the roller coaster that your PSA is following We will continue to monitor the levels and symptoms" Seems to me the best part of the old wooden coaster was cresting the top of the climb and plunging to the bottom. Hopefully, my next

Is the answer age-related valid?
My potassium level showed up on my blood test as 6 and they gave me a binder for two days and a diet I must follow. What I can not get is an answer to my question is this a kidney problem or the effect of the blood pressure perindopril I have taken for ten years? I am 78.
