Was taking Flomax before being diagnosed with PC, Gleason 8 Had 45 radiation treatments, currently taking Zytiga and Prednisone daily and monthly injections of Firmagon. Question: Should I stop taking Flomax while being treated for PC? Thanks in advance.

How to become an advocate for kidney health
NKF advocates have won a number of policy campaigns both in Congress and state capitals across the country - but we're not done yet. We discussed some recent wins and upcoming challenges for the kidney advocate community with Jeff Currey, a Connecticut State Representative and kidney transplant recipient

Another positive beta-2 glycoprotein but numbers have dropped since last test is this normal?
just had my 4th positive beta 2 glycoprotein test. Went in to see the rheumatologist and he said well thats good its dropped from the last test (but its still not in normal range) so no action required because I've never had a blood clot. He has never once asked me what are my symptoms and surely

Urinary Tract Infection
I think I am starting a UTI - usual symptoms - burning, cloudy urine etc. Only just started. Is this more common with PMR? I am taking large doses of vitamin C and I have some D-Mannose. Any other recommendations? I wonder if this is the reason for a flare of PMR symptoms as well - have been stiff

Yesterday my folks celebrated their ❤️50th wedding anniversary❤️ and I got an MRI to see if I'll need one kidney out and an adrenal gland removed that have a mass on them. I'll find out Monday morning. I already found out an ovary needs to be removed. It has a cyst on it. If they remove a kidney I will

after kidney transplants
I am 8 months post on 8/14 it has been almost too easy and I am so thankful but my numbers have always been low for a living donor. My doctors tell me everybody is different and no to get caught up in my numbers. I feel great so I suppose if my team is not concerned I should not be either. They have

UNOS Regions
I'm considering being referred to another hospital for a preemptive transplant but both are in the same USOS Region. They are different states, one in KS and the other in MO. The one in KS is closest but the one in MO says they have a shorter wait time AND the website has all sorts of information on

transplant evaluation and right heart catheter
hello, partner due at the royal free next week and as part of evaluation has been booked for a right heart catheter. Has anyone had one, is it awful? How quickly did you recover. He was expecting to have to have one so its not a terrible shock

Treatment characteristics desired by renal cell carcinoma patients.
I am trying to learn more about health issues that are priority for the patients and their expectations for possible treatments.
I am conducting series of preference studies around the APAC region to understand patient preference and satisfaction with the patient care.

Upcoming Kidney Donation - Tips?
Hi all, my donation is in a few weeks so I am requesting any and all pre/during/post-surgery tips! For example, one great seemingly small reminder that I once got was to limit my caffeine beforehand so I don’t get headaches while I’m in the hospital :) Anything to bring with me to the hospital? Considerations

pressure on my bladder
update doctor got back with results. Apparently over 1,000 red blood cells in urine and E. coli in the urine as well. Going back tomorrow to test again as he thinks infection is still there. Has anyone suffered with this as I’m wondering where the ecoli came from in my urine as I didn’t have diahorrea

Low Sperm Counts
Hi there. I received a kidney transplant 6 months ago. We want to have one more baby (we had three pre transplant and conceived them very easily) but a recent test showed I pretty much have zero sperm. Has anyone encountered this, and if so, did you find any causes related to kidney transplant...medications

What should I bring to the hospital for my 2-night stay? I live in a second-floor apartment. Will I be able to do the stairs? How many immunosuppressants are you on post-transplant, and for how long? I know the Mayo transplant team (Phoenix) will tell me some of this ... I'm just curious about
