10 Year Anniversary
A few weeks ago I realized this is the ten-year anniversary of when I started dialysis. I started in August of 2013 in the days after I had a knee surgery. I was 14 years old. I'm now 24 years old. In the time since I started dialysis I started and finished high school, started and finished college,

Hi Fellow Fighters, Prior to my third round of Taxotere last Friday, I had blood work done. After 2 rounds, my PSA dropped 4.7 points. TBH, I feel like crap today, but the results are promising. My blood work also showed low cortisol levels, how concerned should I be about that? Thanks.

rosuvastatin 5mg and kidney damage
Hi everyone My doctor has put me on Rosuvastatin for my cholesterol which was 5.7. M kidney function has dropped from 57 to 49 in just a few weeks. I have just read that this statin has an increased risk of kidney damage. I have now stopped taking it. We put our faith in our doctors but I really wonder

GFR drop 62 to 57 does that matter?
hi. I'm back with question. Reminder: i had declining GFR to 40s that began to go back up to 60 than 62. Latest it dropped to 57. Not very significant but it is back below 60. Should I be concerned or is it so close to 60 it doesn't matter?? is it likely to continue to drop? Or its wait and see i guess

Clonidine for hypertension
Hello, Does anyone have experience with taking clonidine for hypertension? My FWP has been experiencing fluctuating blood pressure (anything from 102/66 or lower to 180/90 or even 200/80 on occasions) and his cardiologist has been adjusting his meds but they don’t seem to be that effective. We

abdominal ultrasound scan results received
hi everyone, I understand this post is outside of all thing colon and bowel related. However, I’ve been asked to let proole know about my results. Plus, there doesn’t seem to be a hub for abdominal, renal and other related issues. I finally had my scan on 27th April. The results haven’t appeared on

9 weeks post op, still pain on one side, dark shade around kidney? Also new endometrioma found 😔
So at 6 weeks I posted about pain to one side, I was finally send to SAU yesterday for bloods and an ultrasound, my back is so tender to touch and they have found a dark spot in my kidney area? They don't know what it is but sent me home with a lot of pain killers and the promise of a CT scan to take

Intrinsic factor antibody result
Hi all, I've only just seen the result of an Intrinsic Factor Antibody test that was done in December before I started SI which I don't know how to interpret. I got a result of 2 u/ml (reference range is 0-24 u/ml). Is that a positive or a negative result? Does that confirm PA or not? Can someone explain

Transplant and BKV Realities
I received my kidney transplant 8 1/2 months ago. The surgery went so well and the transplant has been a new lease on life in so many ways. As I have posted here, I have dealt with a near-constant onslaught of infections (C-dif x2, UTI, Sepsis, BKV, CMV), the most recent resulting in 2 weeks spent in

Counting down and pre taper terrors.
I have a down week next week as it's 6 years since
kidney
donation
and I have my annual check up, so I don't do any heavy training a few days before as it tends to put my kidney results out slightly, they jump back fast enough but I don't want to panic anyone 😂.
