How much Calcium and Vitamins D & K is enough?
Hi, I was recently diagnosed with mild osteopenia and told by the physician to take calcium with Vitamin D supplements twice per day. A second physician said I should also take it with Vitamin K. I need to know how many mg per day I should take of each of these, in addition to getting them in my normal

Natural Bone Supplement?
I'm looking to start a good calcium supplement. Which type of calcium is best? Calcium from the sea like "algae" ? I've heard "citrate" is better absorbed as you get older..? Also want Vit. K, boron, Vit. D, magnesium. Does anyone have a brand that has been recommended to you? Thanks!

Primary Hyperparathyroidism
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis whilst being investigated for hypercalcemia. Turns out I had a tumour on my parathyroid gland - primary hyperparathyroidism. I was told this caused my osteoporosis because the parathyroid glands control the calcium in our bodies. Mine was out of control and leaking calcium

New Medicines Atorvastatin and Propranaolol Bone Worries
I have had a barrage of blood tests done recently due to Osteoporosis, no blood test was left out, except for Magnesium that I am being tested for in the next lot of blood tests in January. My blood tests show high cholesterol so the doctor prescribed Atorvastatin 20mg. He also prescribed Propranaolol

Vitamin K2 Mk7
Good morning. I have just ordered this as I have learned from this site that I should be taking this with AdCal to help the absorption of the calcium into my bones. The vitamin k is once a day so should i take it with the mid morning AdCal or evening one ? Thanks very much. Currently tapering 4.0/3.5

One Year Post Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate in late October 2020. After initially being on Eligard for 4 months my PSA had dropped to around 2.0, and the Oncologist was happy. My next PSA test after a further 4 months which included a continuation of Eligard and 25 radiation treatments

Rheumy does not believe vitamin K is useful
Just got back from my first rheumy appointment. I grilled him about all sorts if things including should I take Vitamin K with my calcium. He said there is no evidence to suggest that it has any use as there have been no "blind clinical trials". I told him I had read it on this forum and he said "people

Re cap on vitamins please.
Hi, I used to take regular supplements as per the great guidance on here. However, the supplements added up, in cost too, and tbh I just got fed up of ordering, paying for, and remembering to take my T4 plus T3 every day plus a whole load of supplements. So, yes, I stopped I went back onto T4 only

Vitamin K
Hello out there! I’ve been unable to get a doctor’s advice or even a comment on the wisdom of taking vitamin D3 with vitamin K2. I read on Google (!) that D3 ensures the absorption of calcium while K2 directs calcium to the bones and prevents it from depositing where it shouldn’t eg arteries, organs

3 months on- Feeling better than I was
As in the title, after following advice given to me on here, by Seaside Susie and Slow Dragon….i feel much better. Not 100% but getting there I hope! I managed to get an appointment with a new doctor who agreed to raising the dose of my Levo by 25mcg which is what I had been trying for with no luck…

Vitamin D with K for babies
I advised my daughter to check the vitamin D drops she gives her four month old son to make sure vitamin K was included. From a previous post on here I recommended Carlsons, but after checking on Amazon it doesn’t mention vitamin K on the Carlson label. Can anyone recommend a product? Otherwise it will

Freshly picked Blackberries.
Hi everyone, Yesterday I picked these blackberries from brambles growing wild in my hedgerow so I didn't have far to walk. Blackberries are synonymous with Autumn in the UK and will be in fruit for a little while yet. Wild blackberries from brambles have much more flavour than shop bought ones in my
