What's the deal with vitamin supplements? Should vit k supplements in particular be avoided?
I would be interested to know what's good and what's not for persons with aps. For instance: as vit k aids coagulation, I'm assuming we shouldn't be going crazy on the greener shades of foods as well as taking care with vitamin supplements?

History of my psoriasis
Ariund 1990, |I discovered some strange areas on my right leg. Before I knew it, It was all over my body, and to my horror in my scalp. I was soon launched into a regime of assorted creams and portions. It became part of my life to apply this medication. I didn't have the internet at the time

Can anyone suggest anti-inflammatory that doesn't interact with warfarin?
I have been on Warfarin for 16 years after having an artificial Aortic valve replacement. There have been times when I had wished I had gone for an tissue replacement. Due to unstable INR I needed venous blood tests virtually every 2 weeks, which would mean hour waits at local hospital and results back

is vitamin K ok to take when you're on plaquenil?
i've heard from a reliable source that it's best not to mix vit K with antimalarials, eg plaquenil, which i am on (400mg daily) but recent research is recommending vit K be taken with vit D to help bone density so far i've spent 3+ years successfully slowing the rate of my loss of bone density

Low glycemic diet
I'm lying on my bed, recovering from another dumping episode, I thought I'd use the time to google "low glycemic diet " as Larry suggested it might help. It seems incredibly complicated, not just what to eat but combinations of foods, to eat or avoid. I can just about understand the theory, but in

90 (plus) essential nutrients that we all need.
In Britain, we have beautiful, rich, soil varieties that contain all of the required life-giving nutrients that hold the magical 'pinch' of life's wealth and health. We only ever hear about a few of the minerals and vitamins that are required in our diet but I would like to share with you a little information

Anticoagulation and Surgery
I recently encountered a new, unexpected and worrying reason why patients on anticoagulants should self manage their medication if possible. Having been on warfarin for 15 years due to a mechanical, aortic heart valve I took control of managing my medication and INR monitoring 13 years ago. I recently

As I haven't been able to eat wheat, barley, oats and rye since developing coeliac disease I have been exploring other types of nutrition. This is not just to vary my diet but to try and give me a healthy boost and try and stay on the path of feeling well and reasonably satisfied and nourished. Some

Lacey was diagnosed with Autoimmune Liver Disease last year.
In June last year my eldest daughter Lacey became jaundice, I took her to the GPs who contacted the local hospital and they said to take her straight in. So I did. We spent an awful night at the hospital with them running test after test on her and getting no straight answers. What we didn't know was

Vitamin D deficiency
There have been several articles in the last few days mentioning the concerns of increasing numbers of people especially children that are feared will present with vitamin D deficiency in the coming months. People get the majority of their vitamin D through sunlight which converts the cholesterol found

Can anyone feel blood clots moving in their body?
My husband has APS, diagnosed in 2007 when I walked in after he'd had a TIA, couldn't talk & was numb on one side. He had PE's & lost 1/3 of his lung. Since then he has always felt clots go through his lungs, which are very painful, & has had more TIA's despite taking Warfarin. April 1, 2011, he felt

Has anyone tried a natural approach
Hi all, I am new to the group, been on warfarin for about a year and a half - and had a bleeding ulcer a few months back. I am now thinking that I might like to try it "au natural." My internal medicine doc said my 2nd test results, were lower than the first ones, and maybe have been done while I was
