Growing Challenge - Pea Shoots
Who wants to join me to see how each of us get on?
This autumn is going to be a first for me. Not sure how it will turn out but I will be growing Pea Shoots and picking them fresh for my salad. No more bagged pea shoots from the supermarket and in the long term will be cheaper and much fresher

Blood thinners
I was diagnosed in Feb with AF and asked a GP if I should avoid leafy veg with vitamin K. He referred me to Cardiology but I have been put on a waiting list to see/speak to one but the list is 30 to 35 months long! Does anyone know, I am taking Lixiana edoxaban? Many thanks in advance.

Vitamin results are in, advice please.
I finally managed to get a Ferritin test from GP after latest Medichecks showed it had gone down despite taking 20mg of Solgar Gentle Iron. Well, the NHS one shows it’s gone up to 31 from 24 which is amazing really as I haven’t been taking any iron for two weeks!!! So I’m getting no help from them.

Excessive sweating
With Parkinson’s, it’s common for the skin on your face to become very oily, especially on your forehead and on the sides of your nose (this is known as seborrhea). You may also notice that your eyebrows and scalp get oily too, resulting in flaky skin (dandruff). It’s also fairly common to experience

Almost ready to test
I won’t bore you lovely people with my recent story, until my blood results come back but need some advice before doing a Medicheck test. I’m taking Solar's Gentle Iron 20mg, (ferritin was 24 with NHS test last time), Vit D spray with Vit K Mk2 and a pre/probiotic. I take Vit C once every few days as

In re: fear, and other things…
I’ve been reading and reading. Some conclusions have been drawn and there is one consistent theme; fear. We have relied on doctors to tell us what to do to fix osteoporosis but they do not have a clue. No two doctors will give the same answer regarding osteoporosis. Some of the remedies aren’t even

Co-supplementation of Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2 MK7 and Calcium
Unless you are actively increasing your Vitamin K2 MK7 levels through diet or supplementation, you are likely deficient and have inadequate levels for your bone and heart health needs. Vitamin K2 MK7 dosage recommendation is 150 to 180 mcg per day. Consult with your physician and a Registered Dietitian

B12
My mum is hypothyroid and results look good for her and endo agrees. However, active b12 is 51, folate and vitamin d are also low. She’s supplementing vit d (3000iu) / vit k spray, taking folate but GP is being unhelpful re b12. Are there any other tests she should ask for? How do you determine if

Night sweats
My elective heart surgery went horribly wrong. First a stroke and then a junior doctor in the stroke unit wrongly deciding that I was allergic to blood thinners and putting me on a drip of Vitamin K. Not a good move after a mechanical valve transplant with blood clots a real possibility. After two months

Heart friendly multivitamins
Hi all, so I’d normally take a daily multivitamin. Hadn’t given any thought into whether I should or not since the Angiogram and stent. Transpires as I’m on antiplatelet medication, I shouldn’t be taking Iron or Vitamin K (contraindications). This advice came from a Pharmacist. Instead I’ve bought these
